The War On Christmas

As promised in the previous post, the Thanksgiving leftovers are done and the War on Christmas begins in earnest.

There is a war on Christmas and nowhere else in the world can it be seen than in Washington State.  Political correctness is running rampant in Governor Chris Gregoire’s administration.  Bowing to the fringe leftist atheist group, “Freedom From Religion Foundation“, the governor banned holiday displays from the State Capitol.  In effect, any decoration that remotely resembles Christmas is forbidden.

Last year at the capital grounds, this anti-religious group of Scrooges was allowed to erect a plaque that read this garbage.  The Governor of Washington state, Christie Gregoire, essentially caved to the protests of these anti-religious kooks and banned non-governmental displays, including religious displays, from the capitol beginning December 1st.

Given the fact that 95%, or more, of  Washington states population celebrates the Christmas holidays with religious displays, Christmas trees, Menorah’s, or anything else is strictly forbidden.  This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.  These core values are what makes this country unique in the world.  It is undeniable because it is written into our Constitution:

Amendment 1

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it state the abolishment of religious displays.  However, Washington state has prohibited the free exercise of religion by banning religious displays.  Therefore respecting the establishment of Atheism.  That is unconstitutional.

You would think a governor would listen to the people of the state and not to some fringe kook group of party poopers.  Decorating for the holidays is a time honored tradition in this country.  We decorate for Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter and Independence Day.  So why not Christmas?  It doesn’t make any sense.

Time to bring back tradition.

Time to bring back Christmas.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
