Puna Councilwoman Emily Naeole-Beason has finally seen the Greed of Green. The green of cash greed, because of needless government over-regulations. Hawai’i is unique in so many ways. Hawai’i is not like the mainland in any form, in any manner. Yet, the council members voted unanimously to pass a law requiring building construction to meet standards like that of San Francisco.
The arrogance and stupidity of passing such a law is similar to the Obama Health Care law. They didn’t read the BILL! They didn’t study the impact the bill would cause to Hawaiian residences. Councilwoman Emily Naeole-Beason should had known better, she was born and raised here.
Indeed, and Kohala Councilman Pete Hoffmann, who authored and supports the law doesn’t understand why the sudden opposition to the law. You remember Pete Hoffman. He’s the Councilman that wanted a plastic bag ban. Hoffman has displayed complete arrogance and complete disregard for the people of Hawai’i. His interests are only in his GREED for government money.
Putting off the building requirements also will disqualify Hawaii from competing for “green” stimulus money the federal government has been awarding, Hoffmann said.
“We have to do this or we’re not going to receive any stimulus money, now or in the future, regarding energy efficiency,” he added. “That’s certainly another reason not to delay implementation.”
Does this sound familiar? We have to do this, or our economy will go into a Great Depression. That’s what Obama said about the stimulus bill. We have to pass this or else all Hades will happen. They Lied!
Do we need to make housing in Hawai’i more expensive? Affordable only to Pete Hoffman types.
This is GREED. Complete, unabashed, GREED by Pete Hoffman. Of course, Pete Hoffman doesn’t understand Hawai’i and its uniqueness. Hoffman wants to transform Hawai’i into his vision of the mainland.
Our government is littered with these GREEDY people seeking change. Social Change. Change that will cost money and lots of it. Is this good government? Is this good for Hawai’i? Is this good for our people?
Now that Councilwoman Emily Naeole-Beason has proposed a bill to delay implementing the new building code until the impact can be fully assessed. In the rush to cash in on government spending, and that’s our tax dollars by the way, people are not thinking of the consequences of so called “Free Money“.
There is no such thing as Free Money!
There is a cost to everyone when government is over-regulating, over-reaching, and over-grown. Our taxes go up to pay for these regulations. Our taxes go up to pay for these Council people. Intelligent choices cannot be made when government is forcing us to adhere to regulations and taxes that are unreasonable and unwarranted.
Elections Have Consequences
Is the cost of going green worth your right to live the life you want to live?
This is Choke Green!
Choke: A Local expression to describe too much of a thing that smothers.
