We Tried To Warn You

But you didn’t listen.  When drafts of the bill started becoming available, we read them.  We became alarmed by what was in the bill.  We were told, no lied to, that the bill would reduce costs.  We were told we could keep our doctors.  We were told we could keep our insurance.  No, Pelosi said, “We have to Pass IT, to find out what’s in IT

ALL LIES

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

Obama made that particular pledge in a speech to the American Medical Association in June 2009, but he said the same thing, with slight variations, dozens of times during the health care debate. And now, exactly eight months after he signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law, we’re seeing just how empty the president’s promise was.
