Why is the government issuing health care waivers? Wasn’t Obamacare the panacea of equal care for everyone? Wasn’t Obamacare the “Social Justice” for everyone’s well-being? So why is the government issuing waivers to exempt unions and businesses? Over 700 waivers.
Over two million people have been granted waivers and the numbers are growing. Here’s why.
The Affordable Care Act is designed to provide Americans with affordable, high-quality coverage options – while ensuring that those who like their current coverage can keep it. Unfortunately, today, limited benefit plans, or “mini-med” plans are often the only type of insurance offered to some workers. In 2014, the Affordable Care Act will end mini-med plans when Americans will have better access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance plans that cannot use high deductibles or annual limits to limit benefits. In the meantime, the law requires insurers to phase out the use of annual dollar limits on benefits. In 2011, most plans can impose an annual limit of no less than $750,000.
Wouldn’t a better solution to allow insurers to offer affordable plans across State lines? Allow for competition between companies that contracts indemnification to other companies. However, the option of a waiver only last for a year, and it leaves a question what will these companies do when that happens. Insurance rates are going up, by virtue of how the health care law is designed.
2014 is three years away, and the law requires insurance companies stop issuing, and eliminate, what is known as “mini-med” plans. Meanwhile, the affordability of insurance plans is getting less and less affordable to employers and employees. The real issue of affordability is not addressed in the health care law. Limiting, and even eliminating lawsuits, especially the frivolous ones. Lawsuits are a factor why rates are high. There are some many other reasons why the costs are high and not being addressed in the law.
The bottom line is that Obamacare is squeezing insurance companies, employers and employees into a government bureaucratic nightmare of health care regulations. There are no costs controls on affordability. There is no definition of what will, and what will not, be covered by a government insurance plan. Of course, the government plan will cover preexisting conditions as the official government website states. However, it is unclear on the limits, and types of care, being made available through a government plan. This is a government takeover of the Health Care Industry.
Make no doubt that is the purpose of HealthCare.Gov. You might want navigate through the government health care website like I did. Try different scenarios to see where the website leads you to. For example, I used a hypothetical New Jersey resident with a pre-existing condition (condition not disclosed), that was losing employers insurance, and needed affordable insurance. This is where I eventually landed.
In defining Creditable Coverage, pushes you back into Medicare and Medicaid, amongst other options before being eligible for this state run plan. With some doctors starting to drop Medicare and Medicaid patients, the question of doctor reimbursement rates come into question. Will doctors accept this insurance plan?
Just because you have insurance doesn’t mean you’ll get quality care. If good doctors refuse to accept Medicare patients, does that mean you’re left with bad doctors to care for you? Does this mean doctors like this guy?
What if you could not afford a $5,000 deductible? Even so, a maximum $5,000 out-of-pocket expense isn’t all that bad. The scope of coverage seems broad enough also. However, the monthly rates range as low as $225.00, and as high as $812.00, per age, deductible and plan type. That’s $2,700, and $9,744 yearly costs respectively.
I have a feeling we will be seeing more of these notes, on more and more, doctor offices. The plan in its current form will make healthcare too expensive for companies to carry. It will drive people to government run health care programs. Along with that come the myriad of government regulations, and the insurmountable cost, of getting adequate and timely care.
Hawai’i’s inept Governor Neil Abercrombie may have handed birthers, and for that matter, conservatives and libertarians, a reason to question the eligibility of anyone campaigning to be President of the United States.
After the balding hippy, Abercrombie, opened his mouth with the promise to shut up those birthers that claim Obama is not a citizen of the United States, Abercrombie claimed he would prove the birth certificate existed. But he couldn’t, because it doesn’t exist.
This has prompted several States to propose new eligibility laws to make the candidate for President of the United States prove they are citizen of the United States. Arizona, Pennsylvania, Texas, Georgia, along with other States are seriously looking at eligibility requirements before they could be allowed on the State ballot. If passed, this could jeopardize any plans for Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.
Unless, of course, Obama could prove eligibility, which is proving doubtful at this time.
Within ten days after submittal of the names of the candidates, the national political party committee shall submit an affidavit of the presidential candidate in which the presidential candidate states the candidate’s citizenship and age and shall append to the affidavit documents that prove that the candidate is a natural born citizen, prove the candidate’s age and prove that the candidate meets the residency requirements for President of the United States as prescribed in article II, section 1, Constitution of the United States.
And if we truly care about our deficit, we simply cannot afford a permanent extension of the tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans. Before we take money away from our schools, or scholarships away from our students, we should ask millionaires to give up their tax break.
It’s not a matter of punishing their success. It’s about promoting America’s success.
Tradition came to a halt in Hawai’i when both the House and Senate decided to ban prayer. Earning the dubious honor of becoming the first state in the nation to prohibit an invocation at the beginning of the days legislative session.
A day after opening the 2011 session with an invocation from entertainer Danny Kaleikini, the state Senate adopted rules to do away with the tradition of beginning its daily sessions with a word of prayer or other such appeals.
Why? It was an attack on Hawaiian Traditions by leftest who want to remove any sense of Judeo-Christian values out of government. Never mind that this country was founded on these values and has been a tradition that goes as far back to the First Congress.
With threats of a lawsuit by a vocal loud-mouth atheist, Mitch Kahle, the democrat controlled Hawaiian government cowered and voted to ban the traditional opening daily prayer that started the legislative session.
A Hawaii resident, Mitchell Kahle, had also criticized the invocations saying the Senate ought to avoid entanglements with religion. Kahle is founder of the group Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of State and Church which was created in 1997 to keep religion and government separate.
The Supreme Court found prayers by tax-supported legislative chaplains could be traced back to the First Continental Congress and to the First Congress that framed the Bill of Rights and that an invocation asking for Divine guidance wasn’t an establishment of religion.
Hawai’i democrats have decided that capitulating to an obvious vocal minority is better than standing ground on tradition. What’s next democrats, banning Hula? With the support of the American [Criminal] Civil Liberties Union, a group of lawless lawyers determined to destroy the United States, the democrats abandoned tradition. What of the hypocrisy by democrats:
From Hawai’i Free Press:
Hawaii has no Christianity Day, no Judaism Day, and no Buddhism Day–but Hawaii’s Democrat Legislators—with the loud public support of Ron Paul connected Rep Kym Pine (R-Ewa)—passed a resolution to create Islam Day.
By a 22-3 vote the Hawaii Senate May 7 approved House Concurrent Resolution 100 which designates September 24, 2009 as Islam Day. The State House had quietly approved the measure without dissent March 17.
Where was the democrats fear of the ACLU for this event? No where to be found.
That followed the arrest last April of a protester who disrupted a Senate invocation. Mitch Kahle, president of Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of Church and State, was acquitted of disorderly conduct in November and is now suing the Senate and state sheriffs, alleging he was assaulted and improperly detained.
Are we as a nation going to bow to the ranting and ravings of some lunatic with a fax machine set on speed dial to the ACLU? Obviously, the Hawai’i democrats will, but secretly the democrats want to remove all traditional values from this country, this state, and this culture.
This is a continuous effort by democrats to fundamentally transform and destroy America.
This is going to be a real feat of accomplishment if the WON can make this happen.
President Barack Obama will call for new government spending on infrastructure, education and research in his State of the Union address Tuesday, sharpening his response to Republicans in Congress who are demanding deep budget cuts, people familiar with the speech said.
The problem is, where’s he going to get the energy to accomplish these lofty goals? We cannot drill for oil, we cannot create new refineries, we cannot build nuclear power plants, and we don’t have any alternative forms of energy to tap into. So, where’s the energy going to come from to power these competing technologies?
It seems like this has all been done before. Only now, the players have changed. In a not so stunning decision, Obama has chosen General (Government) Electrics CEO Jeff Immelt as his lead for the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
In short, GM is using government money to pay back government money to get more government money. And at a 2 percent lower interest rate at that. This is a nifty scheme to refinance GM’s government debt—not pay it back!
Daddy Deep Pockets Obama is using more of your tax money to pay off his friends at our expense.
It’s all we’re going to be able to afford
Well isn’t this a new development in Abercrombie’s search for Obama’s Birth Certificate. He can’t find it. Now, is this just convenient? With all that noise Abercrombie made about making Obama’s birth certificate public, all of a sudden, he can’t find it. Ask Linda Lingle where she last put it.
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie suggested in an interview published today that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.
Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star Advertiser he was searching within the Hawaii Department of Health to find definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii, because the continuing eligibility controversy could hurt the president’s chances of re-election in 2012.
Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who took office in December, told Honolulu’s Star-Advertiser on Tuesday that “our investigation” indicates there is a recording of his birth.
This ought to be interesting. OK, Neil, Let’s See It!
Getting Better Day By Day!
But it became apparent that what had been discovered was an unspecified listing or notation of Obama’s birth that someone had made in the state archives and not a birth certificate.
Final Update 1/22/2011
Well, well, well, if this isn’t a big surprise. Now, from here on out, Neil Abercrombie will be known as Krusty The Clown.
A privacy law that shields birth certificates has prompted Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie to abandon efforts to dispel claims that President Barack Obama was born outside Hawaii, his office says.
