The day begins with a clear sky and brilliant sunshine. Except it was 60 degrees Fahrenheit at 6AM, and very chilly. It quickly warmed up to 80 degrees by 9AM. Later on during the day, a south easterly wind shift brought Pacific breezes and swollen clouds. Rain has been spotty on the south eastern side of the Puna district. We do need the rain. Our rain water catchment tank is getting low.
The cloud cover has increased and there is a 40% chance of rain in our area. Temperatures are in the mid 70’s and dropping; however, the cloud cover should keep the temperatures from dropping into the 60’s by morning. The cloud cover acts like a quilt over the island keeping in the heat. It was a productive day.
