The election of Donald Trump was indeed a dramatic change in American politics. A change for the better, I hope and pray for. A continuation of the democrats socialist agenda by Hillary Clinton would have further damaged the country, and I believe irreparably. For the record, I wasn’t for Trump. Trump wasn’t even on my list of choices. However, after he won the primary, fair and square, I had to put my support behind him. I did so by pointing out the flaws of the democrats preordained candidate, Hillary Clinton. The corruption in the democrat party was so apparent. The hard left media coverage of Clinton’s campaign decidedly ignored the criminal activity by the Clinton’s and the democrat leadership.
Since Donald Trump won the election, the media has fueled, along with profession protesters, violence, property damage, and social chaos in the streets. The people causing these riots are not Trump supporters, they are hard line leftist socialists. There is no excuse for this violence. This morning, I watching a protest on the TV News, where a school has allowed student to march in protest, carry Mexican flags, and block traffic in the streets. These are high school students, that should be in class, but the teachers and other leftists are denying students an education so they can protest. They are not even old enough to vote in the election.
The so called millennials, those reaching adulthood in the 2000’s, that are in college, are being taught they are entitled to sulk, cry, stomp their feet, have a temper tantrum, over the election results. They are now wearing safety pins as a protest symbol. Makes sense if you still need a diaper and need to be changed four times a day.
The sense of entitlement is destructive, because these young people are the future of the country. If they cannot handle disappointment in their life now, then how will they handle life’s challenges in the future when they leave college and enter the real world? They, as United States citizens, have the First Amendment right to protest, but not violently. Illegals in this country who are not citizens, are not entitled to the same Constitutional Rights. There is no right to destroy property, no right to beat up people, no right to obstruct emergency vehicles, there is no right to criminal behavior.
To date, there’s been silence by President Obama. He almost seems to revel in the chaos. President elect Donald Trump has gone on 60 Minutes and looked at the camera and said, “This has to Stop. Stop It!” The leftist media perceives Trump supporters are harassing and making racist comment against minorities, but they have no proof. However, you can see minorities beating up people in the street because they supported trump. A pregnant woman was attacked in her car, an elderly man was dragged from hos car and beaten, and a girl was severely beaten for being a Trump supporter. A mother threw out her ten year old because he voted for Trump in a mock school election. This is insane!
Clearly, these demonstrations are being orchestrated by the democrats, the communist part, the hard left socialists, and anti-American financiers such as George Soros. It is deliberate attempt to circumvent the election by force, and that is not how this country works in the peaceful transfer of power. After all, you did not see people rioting in the streets when Obama won the Presidency in 2008, and when he won again in 2012. However, you did see an erosion of Constitutional freedoms during the eight years of the Obama regime.
The democrats had all the money, all the media power, but they lost the election anyway. The Founders ingeniously built the Electoral College into the Constitution. It defines how the Presidential elections are chosen. It is why we are a Republic and not a democracy. The Founders knew the history of democracies. They knew how and why democracies failed. It was because of Mob Rule, otherwise known as the popular vote. The tyranny of the majority often creates a single party system that eventually gets corrupted and fails. It is why our system of government works. It might not be perfect, but it has worked for over 240 years. We are the most free, the most wealthiest, and we have the greatest opportunities available in the world. We are unlike any other government.
It’s no wonder why people want to come to America. We offer one thing, equal opportunity for all. Individual rights and freedoms. The liberty to choose the path we want. When government attempts to take those rights away, and substitute those rights with government given rights, then people should know that are rights given, can be taken away. That’s why the Founders called our rights of “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness“, God given rights. These rights cannot be taken away, they are not man made rights. They are rights that are given by our creator. It is up to us, the individual, to use those rights to create the life we want in a land that is free.
