May Day Is Lei Day

It has nothing to do with neither communism, nor socialism.  It just is a day arriving from April showers to May flowers.  At the end of the week it’s Cinco de Mayo and I will be making Fajitas.  The sweet smell of success and freedom.

There is a romantic obsession with leftists to gravitate towards evil.  They wear Che t-shirts and hammer and sickle symbols, but they don’t know what it means because they have never lived in a communist world.  Even though the events in Cuba and Venezuela are western examples of what communism is, there are other eastern example where the reach of totalitarian rule is even worse.

In Arabic countries, slavery is open an accepted, yet ignored by western countries.  The United Nations, a bastion of leftist filth, approved Saudia Arabia to be included in a panel for women’s rights.  This is a society that forbids women from driving and traveling with out a male escort. There is a dress code for Arabic to be completely covered in a black burqa outfit under penalty of death.  That’s the left’s idea of freedom and equality.

Here in America, the left protests over freedom.  They outright reject freedom.  They embrace the idea of government control over the individual lives.  This slavery was all but eliminated worldwide, but is still practiced in other countries. Maybe it is because leftist don’t see, but feel emotionally.  They are easily convinced of perceived injustices that don’t exist in western culture.  It’s because the socialist society sees individualism as uncontrollable.  The left demonizes individual success as robbery of others, and supports robbing the successful to redistribute profits to those that never earned it.  It’s called social justice.  I call it socialism and evil.

Unsettling Science

EkoMessage

Upon questioning, the EPA Chief Gina McCarthy, cannot answer simple questions about the environment.  The person wanting more taxpayer monies for a corrupt agency under liberal progressive control, cannot cite basic questions about the environment.  It proves that environmentalism is lie, a joke, a corrupt government agency.

Listen to this crap from the EPA Chief!

You would expect the person running this agency would know the answers off the top of their head.  Was McCarthy unprepared, or incompetent?

“Climate change is real. It is happening. It is a threat,” McCarthy said. “Climate change is not a religion. It is not a belief system. It’s a science fact.”

This, from the same person that claims Global Warming is not a religion?  Science Fact?  Yet, she cannot produce any science facts to prove her claims.   How is this possible?  How does this person continue to keep her job?

We know that the science behind global warming is a hoax.  We know there is a larger agenda to control the lives of people with crushing government regulations.  We know the left is manufacturing lies to scare people into believing the climate is being controlled by humans.

These lunatics believe the government is spreading mind control chemicals through commercial aircraft.  They call them “Chem-Trails

family_dees

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants you to believe that Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is dangerous and should be classified as a pollutant.  This is insanity!  Carbon Dioxide is a necessary component for life on this planet.

This is the same argument that population control people have been using for years.  They believe that humans are a pest, an environmental flea that can be shaken off.  George Carlin had a great comedy skit about this. NSFW!

The real reason is revealed by the United Nations Climate Chief; It is to destroy capitalism.

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

These people are “Crony Capitalist“, they are responsible for the corruption of real Capitalism.  Real Capitalism, like real Conservationist, protects the environment and resources.  Helps economies grow and thrive.  They believe in real science and real results.

These global warming people are science fiction bullshit artists.  They call anyone that doesn’t believe in their religion of climate change, a denier.  They have called for the public execution of anyone that disputed this “settled science” .

They believe that science is a consensus, that you vote for the result.  They remind me of the ancient heretics that would burn people at the stake for denying their religious word.  Their god of intolerance.

The Obama regime has used this practice to attack legitimate industries.  This is the disease of liberalism.  It is a mental disease and undoubtedly the greatest environmental danger to the planet, and humankind.

Under the government force of the Obama regime, progressives have damaged the environment, the economy and the planet; all for a false religion of Gaia.   From GMO technology to Guitar manufacturing, the progressive movement has proven to be anti-environment, anti-law, and anti-human.

Misrepresentation

Misrepresentation

My Congressional misrepresentative Crazy Mazie Hirono (D-HI) sent out a newsletter proudly proclaiming that she’s against the people of Hawai’i in the Second District where I live.  In her newsletter she states that she voted against the Ryan budget because she claims it will harm the priorities of communities and the people of Hawai’i.  That’s a flat out lie!

Hirono outlines 10 points where she misrepresents the Ryan budget with Socialist Democrat talking points.  Each point is a complete distortion of the Ryan budget.  Hirono would rather keep with the failed policies of the Obama regime.

Let’s take a look at her poorly defined excuses for not voting for a stronger Hawai’i:

1)      Ends Medicare as we know it:  Medicare as we know it, is going broke.  The Ryan plan brings Medicare back into solvency.  Medicare is already in the RED and will eventually run out of money.  Hirono would rather keep propping up a system going broke.  Doctors are starting to turn away Medicare patients.  Ryan’s voucher plan would give more flexibility to the patient to choose and decide their medical needs.  Under the current plan, the patient and the doctor must follow government rules that restrict how Medicare money is spent.  In effect, keeping the government between you and your doctor.  It is well known that AARP is a stooge for Obamacare, that catastrophe of a healthcare plan soon to be declared Unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.  Social Security is going broke, the government has spent the money that was promised; there are only IOU’s left in Social Security trust.  The only thing Hirono’s budget does is keep our money in government hands to further misspend it recklessly.

2)      Repeals the Affordable Care Act: Also known as Obamacare.  And YES!  We want that Obamanation REPEALED!  It is 2,700 pages of bad law!  Why else is the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) giving waivers away!  Waivers mostly to Unions and Obama cronies.  It is well known that without the waivers, companies would have dropped their employee healthcare plans, well before the Government Insurance Exchange programs will have started in 2014.  The excuse of insurance discrimination is flat out wrong.  Obamacare will discriminate against patients and doctors through a 15 member panel of unelected, but appointed, bureaucrats.  This unelected panel, (a.k.a. Death Panels) will decide if you will get any healthcare.  They will focus on cost and not care.  This panel will judge your eligibility for healthcare by your taxable worthiness. In other words, if you not paying enough in taxes to support the system, you will receive rationed care.  Why else does Obamacare force parents to insure their children till 26 years of age?  Because the law assumes the child’s taxable worthiness will reach the level needed to prop up Obamacare.  Someone has to pay for Obamacare and the law assumes 26 years of age is that age level that reaches the workforce as a fully paying taxpayer.  Seniors and retirees, on the other hand, will receive rationed care.  Obama said it himself; “Maybe your Mother should take the Pill!”  Preventing insurance discrimination for pre-existing conditions can be made a law by itself.  Insurance is not healthcare.  Insurance is a means to healthcare and should be treated separately.  As Obamacare become more online, the costs are going up.  You won’t be able to keep your doctor.  You won’t be able to keep your insurance.  What will result, will be a two tiered healthcare system where the very rich will be able to afford health care, and everyone else will have hospital emergency rooms just to get basic healthcare.  That’s the future of Obamacare.  Is the age of consent now going to be 26 years of age?

3)      Attacks Women’s Health Care:  That’s a total lie! A manufactured scare tactic the Socialist Democrats like Hirono are using to try and scare women.  Insurance discrimination is a falsehood!  Insurance is not healthcare, but a means to acquiring it.  A simple law to prevent insurance companies from discriminating anyone, regardless of either gender, age or precondition, doesn’t need to be in a wieldy 2,700 pages of bureaucratic nonsense disguised as healthcare.  This scare tactic Hirono and her Socialist partners in crime are playing on the American people’s fears is shameful.  There is no proof that the Ryan plan discriminates against women.  That is a simply a lie, and Hirono knows it.  What Hirono wants to do is make everyone pay for abortions and contraceptive services.  There is nothing in the Ryan budget that prevents women from healthcare, that’s the bottom line.  Shame on Hirono for promoting a lie to her constituents.

4)      Eliminates Brand USA, our nation’s travel promotion arm: The question is, why do we need this program?  Wouldn’t a program like this be better administered through private enterprise?  The answer is a resounding YES!  The mission of Brand USA is to encourage international visitation to the United States.  With the debt burden that Obama has done in just 3 short years, something has to go!  The taxpayer money spent marketing the American States, cities and towns would be used at the local level.  The world already knows where and who we are.  This is just wasteful needless spending.

5)      Rolls back efforts to make college affordable: Is college affordable now?  Is college a good value today with leftist professors indoctrinating students into a Socialist model?  No!  This is another scare tactic by Hirono and her Socialist Democrat criminals.  You’ve got Occupy Wall Street (OWS) people running around with worthless degrees in such fields as Cyberfeminism” and “Taking Marx Seriously: Should Marx Be Given Another Chance?”.  These are real courses being offered in Universities that Hirono wants you to pay for through government grants.  What marketing skills do courses like this offer the soon to be 26 year old about to enter the workforce?  Ryan’s plan does not eliminate grant programs; it just streamlines it towards courses with job marketable skills.  Isn’t that a better use of taxpayer money?  Let the student pay for these whacky courses through other means other than government taxpayer grants.

6)      Slashes education programs for Hawaii’s students:  This is also another lie and scare tactic that Hirono should be ashamed of.  Currently the Department of Education (DoE) is spending more money, but getting poorer results.  Hirono would rather continue the time honored practice of throwing taxpayer monies at a failing system and hoping someday it will get better.  The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  The Federal taxpayer monies spent on education should be a block grant to let the States run their education programs that work for the people of their state.  Hirono would continue with a central planned system that puts conditions on the states like “No Child Left Behind”, a noble plan that never worked.  Hirono would better represent the educational needs of Hawai’i’s students by working to get the largest block grant for her district.  But that means work.

7)      Cuts nearly 4.1 million jobs nationwide through 2014: This is Liberal fantasy!  This is the Socialist Model that states only the government can create jobs.  It is not the role of the government to create jobs.  Our Constitution is based on a Free Market Capitalist system, not a Socialist Central Planning model.  The Obama regime has spent billions of taxpayer dollars trying to make that work and it has failed miserably.  The Ryan plan seeks to eliminate unnecessary wasteful government programs.  Currently, the rate of government spending is unsustainable and dangerous.  It is pure fantasy to believe spending can continue at its current rate.  I believe the Ryan budget doesn’t cut enough!  I also believe Economic Policy Institute is nothing more than a mouth-piece for the Congressional Progressive Caucus to spread economic half-truths and outright misinformation.  The Economic Policy Institute makes claims, but fails to back it up with any supporting data.  Under Obama’s NO PLAN, but continuing run-away spending will eventually hurt everyone; seniors, children, poor, middle class and the rich.  Again, another Social scare tactic by Hirono.

8)      Gives millionaires and billionaires $265,000 each in addition to the $129,000 they would receive from the Bush tax cuts:  Hirono is a student of Keynesian economics and wealth redistribution.  Classic Socialism and Class Warfare! The belief that if you take money from one group of people and give it to another group.  That does not create jobs.  It does not create economic opportunity.  Hirono wants to expand government by using tax payer money to waste on government programs.  That’s unsustainable!  The Bush tax cuts gave everyone a tax cut.  Obama and Hirono wants to punish people that are wealthy and successful.  Hirono wants to tax the job creators.  Hirono wants to slow down the economy by killing small business with unnecessary taxes.  This country has the highest corporate tax rate in the world.  Hawai’i has some of the highest taxes in the nation.  Hawai’i currently tacked on a half percent to the General Excise Tax (GET) to build a train to nowhere.  How long before Honolulu’s mistake starts to affect the neighbor islands?  This nonsense of taxing and spending our way into prosperity is complete idiocy and irresponsible.

9)      Cuts transportation investments in roads, bridges, rail lines, buses, and airports: Again, spending cuts need to be done because we don’t have the money.  Obama has drained the Treasury.  We as a country are broke.  To continue to deny that is like not paying your mortgage.  Eventually you will lose your house.  It’s like not paying your credit cards, eventually the bank will come for you.  It’s like not paying off your car; eventually the repo man will repossess your car.  States should be responsible for their transportation priorities.  Instead, States with Democrat leadership have wasted transportation projects on other general fund projects.  Neil “Crusty the Clown” Abercrombie took money from the Hurricane fund for other projects.  This is the same thing that Hirono wants to do.  Barney Frank, the Congressman crook that once claimed the Housing Market was solvent and not in trouble of collapsing, did a fund raiser for Hirono.  You see, these are the people that caused the economic collapse.  It wasn’t the Bush tax cuts.  It wasn’t the eight years of the Bush presidency.  It started in 2006 when the House of Representatives was dominated by Socialist Democrats.  That’s when out of control spending started.  That’s when the housing market started to implode.  In 2008 when Obama Regime increased spending with Cash For Clunkers, the GM Bailout, the Stimulus plan and the Quantitative Easing of the economy.  All failed economic policies supported and voted for by Hirono.

10)   Protects tax breaks and boosts incentives for corporations shipping American jobs overseas:  I don’t know what incentives companies to move overseas, except for high taxes and over regulation.  Hirono and her gang of Socialist Democrats have choked businesses with high taxes and over-regulations.  Their failed economic policies to pick winners and losers have resulted in millions of job losses.  Conveniently, Hirono blames the Republicans for the Democrats failed policies.  The Democrats owned the House of Representatives for 4 years until 2010 when the Tea Party and Conservatives swept the house with Fiscal Conservatives.  There hasn’t been a budget passed since Obama came into power.  Even the Senate rejected Obama’s budget.  So for Hirono to gleefully cast her vote against fiscal sanity just shows the lack of intelligence she has understanding how the economy works.

Hirono offers no budget solution herself.  Typical Marxist Democrats that are good at making speeches but little on substance and follow through.  At least Ryan has a budget with substantial fiscal sanity.  Sooner or later, this nation needs to come to grips with our fiscal house.  If not, we will surely end in worse condition.  Hirono can hide her head in the sand all she wants, but standing on the sidelines and making unhelpful comments doesn’t demonstrate good government.  It does show a small petty woman with an ego of empty vanity.

House Budget Commitee Chairman Paul Ryan corrected Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s incorrect speech on Medicare during House Floor debate of the Path to Prosperity Budget.

DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz: As a member of Congress representing a large number seniors in south Florida, I can tell you that the House Republican Budget would be devastating for seniors and older Americans. This Republican path to poverty would pass like a tornado through America’s nursing homes, where millions of Americans seniors receive long-term and end-of-life care.

HBC Chairman Paul Ryan: The growth rate of Medicare under this budget is the same one the President proposes in his budget. Here’s the difference: President Obama in his law — the one being debated over in the Supreme Court — says 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats will be in charge of putting price controls and cuts to Medicare to accommodate that growth rate. Our plan puts 50 million seniors in charge of choosing what health care plan is best for them — more for the poor, more for the sick, less for the wealthy, and it makes Medicare solvent.

And here’s the catch: we don’t change the benefit for current seniors. This just applies to younger people – unlike the current law that the President passed — that my friend voted for – 15 bureaucrats are in charge of putting price controls on current seniors’ medical care which leads to denied care for them. So if we’re talking about who’s “saving and strengthening Medicare” it is this budget as opposed to the status quo, which raids it, rations it and still allows the program to go bankrupt.

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,”

Presumption is a scary thing.  Does Obama know something we don’t?

The Ryan Republican Budget did pass in the House today.  The Senate is scheduled to review the budget, but the Socialist Democrats that holds the majority rule under Harry Reid will most likely put the budget on hold.  This means the current rate of mismanaged spending will continue until after the election.  If Obama gets reelected, the America as we have known it will cease to exist.  Our economic future will look like Europe, in particular Greece.  That is a future which will end the republic and the beginning of a socialist model much like Russia.  If Obama is reelected, the Second Amendment will end and Obama will disarm the populace.  If Obama is reelected, free speech will be a thing of the past; any dissenting opinion will be not be tolerated.  If Obama is reelected healthcare will be rationed, jobs will be scarce, housing will be government owned and the disintegration of individual freedoms and liberties will be forever lost.

Obama the Venture Capitalist

Obama the Failed Venture (Vulture) Capitalist!  Why is ‘clean energy’ so dirty and corrupt?

Would you buy stock from this man?  Obama the Venture Capitalist?  I haven’t heard of any success stories about Obama’s Green Energy programs.  Believe me, I’ve looked and I’ve only found several successful green companies, but they are in Korea and not here.

This morning on the CBS Early Show, they reported on the loss of billions of taxpayer dollars in Department of Energy loans to failed ‘green energy’ companies across the United States.

.

CBS News – January 13, 2012

.

So let’s take a look at where the Obama regime has spent your money on failed ‘green energy’ programs.  Solyndra, General Motors Chevy Volt, Beacon Power Corporation and these are just a few of your forced investments that have failed.  There many more you can read about in the CBS story.

The Energy department’s director, Dr. Steven Chu, is supposed to be a scientist and a Nobel Prize winner for physics.  I’m beginning to think that anyone with a Nobel Prize is actually an idiot.  See Paul Kurgman and his Keynesian economic theories of tax and spend your way to prosperity.

.

(Hat Tip Darwin)

Remember when Obama said that Capitalism never worked?  Even though this country was founded in Capitalism and free-market enterprises, Obama believes in a central planning bureaucracy controlled by government agencies.  The Soviet Union was modeled after that, look where it got them.  Even the Communist Chinese are more Capitalistic than us!!!  Thanks to Obama.

“It’s a simple theory, and we have to admit it’s one that speaks for to rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government – that’s in America’s DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. But here’s the problem. It doesn’t work. It has never worked.”

History is a problem for Obama.  He either doesn’t know it, or he thinks you don’t know it.  Obama creates a Straw Man argument for ‘clean energy’ by vilifying cheap energy sources like coal and oil.   Creating and running business is a alien concept to Obama.  Energy is needed to run any business.  Gas is needed for transportation, and oil and coal for electricity to power a business.

Running the Office of the Presidency has been outsourced to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.  It was only after the midterm election in 2010 when the Tea Party helped elect fiscally responsible candidates to slow down the out of control spending and needless regulations.  These Tea Party people elected into office have been fighting an uphill battle with both Socialist Democrats and Establishment Republicans.  They need our help to restore the Republic.

.

Failed Wind Farm

.

There are a number of ‘green energy’ projects in Hawai’i; there is biomass, wind and solar.  Except for the existing power generation using oil, none of these ‘green energies’ have ever worked.  It is either too expensive, or it is not reliable as a alternative to oil.  Yet the government is pouring money into these projects with little results except to bankrupt the treasury.  Along the way, somebody is making a lot of money at taxpayers’ expense.

The online news site Honolulu Civil Beat published an article today making the claim that Hawai’i’s high cost of oil is because of Japanese Tsunami.  The Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) started a public relations campaign to explain the high electrical rates.  Full story here!

“HECO buys a lot of low sulfur fuel oil and primarily buys low sulfur oil from local refineries that have prices that are indeed tied into the Far East prices,” he said. “So the Asian low sulfur fuel oil prices have been really affected by what has happened with the Japanese tsunami and the closing down of nuclear power plants. The Japanese have had to switch to running fuel oil.”

While this is partially true, it is not entirely true.  As Andrew Walden from Hawai’i Free Press points out:

Two problems with this fact check: 1) Hawaii is closer to Latin American LSFO oil sources so we are not hostage to the Asian market. 2) Tesoro has the capacity to process high-sulfur oil
This Civil Beat “fact check” is just the latest Omidyar effort to jack up everybody’s oil and electricity prices in Hawaii. We are not lab rats in his failed green energy experiment.

When Fact Checking a claim by Hawai’i’s monopolistic public utility (HECO) that natural disasters and Middle East unrest, are the reasons why a spike in oil prices has caused Hawai’i electric rates to rise, then it is necessary to look back at the real reasons behind the scenes.

From Hawai’i Free Press:

There is no need for Hawaii to pay Asia’s higher prices–unless of course it was convenient to create political pressure in order to force Big Wind and Big Cable on Lanai and Molokai. Jacking up oil prices has long been a staple of green energy scammers’ strategy. For instance Pierre Omidyar’s Kanu Hawaii group in 2009 pushed for a Barrel Tax which would have raised the price of oil to $100 a barrel entering Hawaii. (Isn’t there something perverse about the richest guy in Hawaii working to jack up everybody’s gasoline prices and electric bills? Is he trying to push us all out?) In a report issued December 30, 2009, the Hawaii Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force created by Act 234 of 2007 outlined its support for a Carbon Tax in Hawaii. Robbie Alm, representing HECO, was a member of the Task Force and supported the Carbon Tax

Indeed, part of Obama plan for Hope and Change was to raise electric rates.  Skyrocketing! To quote Obama’s own words.  Along with EPA regulations and Dept. of Interior restrictions on coal harvesting and oil drilling; the Obama regime’s policies are not only the source of expensive energy costs, but the economic slowdown which relies on abundant cheap energy.

Ironically, the very environmentalist groups that are demanding ‘clean green energy’ have come out against it.  In Hawai’i, on the Big Island where I live, there is a old power plant in Pēpē’ekeo that was  used when sugar was the major industry here.  When sugar left the islands for cheaper locations, the coal-fired power plant continued on.  Recently, the plant has been refurbished to use biomass to generate electricity.   Not only has there been local opposition to the plant, but the environmentalists have come out against the plant also.

Hu Honua will use only biomass. The goal is for the plant to be operational by late 2012. It will produce 24 megawatts of power, about 10 percent of the island’s electrical needs and about enough for 14,000 homes. It expects to employ about 100 construction workers for up to a year for plant refurbishment and then about 30 fulltime workers at the facility.

It should be noted that biomass is plant material, namely the huge Eucalyptus trees that line the Hāmākua coast along the east side of the Big Island.  It will produce emissions like coal does; however, it will require large trucks to haul the trees that grow on the slopes of Mauna Kea.  The roads in Pēpē’ekeo are not built to handle the traffic, nor the weight of large trucks hauling trees.  The community is small with many Mahi ‘ai (farms) in the area.  The only benefit that I can see by this plant is that it will create some full time jobs; but that’s already the case using coal, and it’s cheaper and more environmentally safer for the ‘Aina.

Coffee Talk with Crazy Mazie Hirono

Chock Full Of Nuts Party

My Congressional misrepresentive Crazy Mazie Hirono(D-HI) graced her presence yesterday in Hilo.  She was here speaking at the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) hall, located at 100 West Lanikaula street.  Billed as a Coffee Talk, the purpose was to meet with constituents and discuss issues important to those in her congressional district.  I find the term “Coffee Talk” interesting; was that a slam against the Tea Party?  You know, those rambunctious Constitutional protestors that swept their way into the Congressional House of Representatives during the 2010 midterm elections, threatening to take back their country.  Anyway, here’s how the meeting went down:

We arrived at the Union hall at 4:40PM; the meeting is scheduled to begin at 5PM.  There’s a pretty good crowd gathered already here, and there’s more people filing in to the Union hall.  As we find our seats that are arranged in a circular style, the Ohana (family) style, as we later learned.  Coffee and doughnuts are available, and Hirono’s staff quickly tries to break the ice to make everyone feel welcome.  By the way, this union supports the Occupy Wall Street people.

5PM comes, and goes, and so far, Hirono’s a no show. More people are arriving, and I believe we have about 50+ people in attendance now.  Someone hands out a publication called “Aloha ‘Āina Ea Ea“.  It is a newspaper/pamphlet that covers island stories about social injustice.

Someone else hands out a single page letter entitled “The Slippery Slope of Indefinite Detention“.  It is an opinion piece on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), H.R. 1540, which Hirono, and 283 House Representatives voted for, including Representative Hanabusa(D-HI).  Along with 93 Senators, including Senators Inouye(D-HI), Akaka(D-HI), that also voted for this bill.  Only 7 Senators voted against it.  It is ironic that a bill which allows the government to arrest, and detains anyone the government deems a terrorist, was voted for by three Japanese Americans.  Obama signed the bill, with reservations, on New Year’s Eve December 31, 2011.  Ambiguity remains about the bills language but that’s for another post.  So back to Mazie Hirono and Coffee Talk!

At 5:15PM, one of Mazie’s staff members, Marvin, arrives to explain that our Representative is still meeting with island agricultural business people.  While Marvin is explaining the format of the meeting, and asking that people remain civil in their questions.  Mazie finally arrives and the meeting begins.  And what a meeting it was!

Almost immediately, there is open hostility.  One woman wants to know how the order of questions will be asked.  That gets quickly diffused as Hirono takes to the floor and begins the meeting.  Hirono outlines her priorities: Jobs, Education and Infrastructure.  Investments in the future, but little on specifics on how to pay for such investments.  There’s talk about Kupuna and Keiki care in Hirono’s opening statements, with emphasis on how Paul Ryan’s(R-WI) budget would hurt entitlements.  Again, addressing problems, but offering no solution and slamming GOP solutions.  The cheap shot at Paul Ryan’s was uncalled for since Marxist democrats haven’t produced a budget for almost 4 years.

The first question, er, statement for Hirono:  A LGBT person, that identifies themselves as being from Germany?  With a thick German accent, this person launches into a tirade on being appalled by Hirono’s NDAA vote.  Then into ghey rights, Occupy Wall Street, aqua farming; this seems to go on and on, for better than 5 minutes, as a list of grievances doesn’t seem to include an aluminum pole to celebrate Festivus!

It is a sign!  A sign of how this meeting is going to turn out!  BADLY!  Hirono answers the non-question with a non-answer, of course.  A rambling incoherent reply that references Dennis Kucinich(?), another progressive communist, and some Party of Peace, or something.  Then Hirono describes her personal life of growing up with an alcoholic father, a single mother and how life just wasn’t fair.  How she’s against the marriage bill.  It just goes on and on!!!

The second question, or statement; is from a rather angry woman that rants about losing her partner to Hepatitis C.  Then continues ranting about Rat Lung disease, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO), pesticides and Geothermal energy.  Was there a question in there?  Nope, it was just another rambling rant.

Not only does Hirono filibusterer a non-answer, but her response is as lengthy as the constituents rants.  It’s using up valuable time, and it’s obvious I won’t be able to ask any questions.  It’s clear the meeting is turning into a bitch-fest, and is fast deteriorating in purpose.

The Geothermal question, statement comes up again, with even more directed hostility.  A woman accuses Hirono of trying to gas the residents of Puna where the island’s only geothermal plant exists.  The claim that Geothermal is not clean and they should be encouraging more solar alternative energy.  Hirono has a chance here to talk about tax credits on solar, but she doesn’t discuss it.

After that long rant, Marvin from Hirono staff asks the woman, what the question was:  The woman replies, “What are you doing to do about it?”  Marvin reminds the audience for the second time to be civil in their questions.  Hirono explains that she’s all for alternate energy and anything that wasn’t oil based energy.  Much of our electricity is generated by oil.  Alternatives such as solar are expensive and priced out of reach of most people.

Hirono does address the need for better medical services, but she doesn’t outline any plan to address the real need for doctors on these islands.  We have a shortage of doctors here on the Big Island.  Most doctors are not taking on new patients and most are general practitioners.  We have some specialist, but if you need to see a cardiologist, you have to go off island.  Hirono had a real opportunity to discuss the real need for more medical services, but never discussed it.

The GMO’s subject gets a comment from the audience about labeling foods to identify which are GMO free.  Hirono agrees that labeling would be a good idea.  This pacifies the audience to a degree.

The next question, or accusation from OWS supporter claims all members of congress are bought and paid for by Wall Street.  Hirono takes umbrage with that and defends herself as independent of Wall Street influences.  Another questioner states that health care should be paid for by Wall Street since “they provide no social value“, and then asks Hirono if she supports capitalism.

Hirono finds herself on the defensive again.  She explains she supports Dodd-Frank legislation and that jobs are not created by the private sector.  Really!!??  Jobs are not created by the private sector?  Another person asks about corporations like Monsanto that were bailed out.  I wasn’t aware that Monsanto was ever bailed out, but an obvious frustrated Hirono explains it this way:

“The bailouts were necessary to prevent a world-wide depression, Hirono said.  “Wall Street had no accountability and something needed to be done to keep teachers working“, she said.  Then Hirono went on to say that the House Republicans favors an unregulated Wall Street.  She claimed that the Republicans support shipping jobs overseas.  Slams the GOP!!!  Typical Marxist propaganda by Crazy Mazie Hirono.

It’s now 5:49PM, and the audience is becoming increasingly hostile.  Again Marvin from Hirono’s staff reminds people to be civil in their questions.  Now comes the conspiracy question.

A gentleman asks about 911, and bombing Iraq, planned preemptive invasions of Iran.  I’m thinking we have a Wrong Paul supporter asking questions.  Hirono replies that was the policies of Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz and asked where the questioner heard that?  “It’s on the radio every day”, the questioner replies.  I was curious about that claim since we only have one news and sports radio station in Hilo.  I guessing this person is referring to George Noory’s Coast to Coast Am program.  Conspiracy theories like that of Alex Jones Prison Planet.

When asked about drone strikes and killing American citizens; Hirono replies that she favors diplomacy over military actions.  That did placate many of the people in the audience.

The subject of Veterans came up and everyone agreed more needs to be done to support Veteran causes.  I wondered about all the returning Veterans and where they will get jobs.

Another question brings up Individual Liberties.  Specifically, the case of Roger Christie who is currently in a Federal prison on O’ahu for the sale, distribution and growing of Marijuana.  Christie created the THC Ministry in Hilo and was busted for selling pot.  The questioner wondered why murders, rapists and robbers get released, but Christie has been in jail for so long.  Hirono claimed she didn’t know anything about it.

The last question statement of the evening was an obvious labor union person asking Hirono to repeal the Taft-Hartley Act.  This person also said something interesting; he told Hirono that she shouldn’t use the GOP as strawman argument on anti-union laws.

Hirono replied that Unions empower people, and that there is a frontal assault on unions and the NLRB.  She said more education needs to be done.

Hirono started wrapped up the meeting by summarizing the meeting points.  She outlined the problems, but offered no solutions.  She blamed the GOP as the root of all the problems.  She explained that infrastructure jobs will help repair “our crumbling roads and bridges“.  That prompted someone in the audience to ask why she voted against the Keystone Pipeline.  She explained that we need to work for more alternative energy sources, and that more oil is not the solution.

In the following video clip, a university person asks a question makes a rambling statement about Social Security and the ending the Bush Era Tax cuts.  Which Hirono quickly says the Bush tax cuts are only for the rich!  Keeping with the Marxist rhetoric that only the rich benefit from tax cuts and that tax cuts robs the treasury from much needed taxpayer money. Hirono uses the classic Class Warfare argument that other democraps use to try and convince people that Republicans only care for the wealthy, and not the poor and middle class.

Sorry for the pitchiness

@4:15 in the video, Hirono says we should be creating jobs.  Citing special treatment for the returning Veterans, Hirono states that congress hasn’t passed one single jobs bill.  But that’s not true at all.  There was the stimulus that was supposed to create shovel ready jobs.  Obama said those jobs weren’t so shovel ready.  Hirono Lied!!  An audience member quips that jobs should be for everyone and that Veterans should wait for jobs like everyone else.  A little heat in the kitchen??

@4:40 a sympathetic constituent makes a rather odd statement about change and how it will effect us.

@7:00 Hirono thanks everyone and then complains that some people did not treat her with Pono (respect) she thinks she deserves.

@8:00 Hirono speaks about Ohana and Aloha, and then starts ranting about yelling and screaming, and coffins being left on peoples lawns!?!  Then strangely brings up guns and the Gabby Giffords tragedy?!?  What was she implying?

The meeting ends with a traditional Lei gift.  Overall, I’m not sure what was accomplished by this meeting, or rather bitch session.  An opportunity to present ideas was lost.  Hirono was obviously ill-prepared and did not bring anything of substance to her own meeting.  She played the blame game and never once spoke about her own accomplishments, or lack thereof.   All Shibai!

Raise Their Taxes, Not Mine

“Raise my taxes! Raise my taxes! Raise my taxes!” they chanted, lined up shoulder to shoulder for a few hundred yards stretching a street in front of the Capitol.

Really, the Unions want people to pay more taxes, so they can have more of your money.  They even demonstrated their anger over not getting enough of your tax payer money.  That’s your taxes, that’s your cost for goods and services, that’s your cost, when democrats and Unions pair up.  Those Unions that are tied into government spending are especially expensive and cost political votes.

As I read this article, with great astonishment, from the Chicago Tribune, about how Unions members are being bused into the capitol by the thousands, to demand the government, raise their taxes.  Along with everyone else’s taxes, of course.  Who paid for this Union day off for protesting?   Was this boondoggle paid for by taxpayer money?  Somebody had to pay for the workers, the buses, the time off work.  The gas used to bus these people into the capitol, how much was that?  Where did they get the buses, and how much did that cost the taxpayers?

Making threatening statements:

“These 177 people who have a job don’t want to do their job,” said Henry Bayer, head of the Illinois chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, referring to the number of lawmakers in the House and Senate. “Yes people are hurting, that’s why we need a tax increase….If you try to leave town without doing your job we’re going to chase you.”

Kind of an ominous threat, don’tcha think?   However, Governor Pat Quinn (D), really wants a 33% tax increase for Illinois.  So what will become of Illinois if they really do raise taxes?  In today’s fragile economic environment, the Unions want their taxes raised?  I suppose this will either attract more Union people to move to the State of Illinois, or force out of the state, all the Non-Union people and their families.  Either way, living in Illinois, is going to get very expensive for a lot of people.

Colorful Demonstrations

Wearing outfits of various colors, and representing Unions of various government entities and services, the people marched on the capitol.  This, somewhat large, Union demonstration is somewhat localized to Illinois.  We have not seen this level of demonstrations by any other Unions, anywhere else in the country.  Unlike Tea Party demonstrations, like those that took place during on Tax Day, April 15th, 2010, the message was against raising taxes and government more spending.  Although, New Jersey’s Governor, Chris Christie, is getting quite a few protests just because he wants a pay freeze to get control of an out of control budget.

New Jersey’s Unions get, from the day they are hired, to the day they die, full medical and retirement pay.  Until, the day they die.  Full medical benefits until they die.  Is that fair to the rest of the non-Union tax payers in New Jersey?

Here in Hawai’i, we have out of control Union spending also.  Not as bad as New Jersey’s problems, but eventually it will reach that level of crisis.  Especially, should former Congressman Neil Abercrombie (D) should win the governor’s seat in Hawai’i.  Abercrombie is a huge Union supporter and much of his voting base is the Union organizations in Hawai’i.  This means that Abercrombie will obey the demands of a bloated, overpaid, Union, and not to the needs of the state.  Under the current Union model, there is no accountability.  Take the Hawai’i Teachers Union decision to use furlough days to reduce class time for students.  Instead of doing what’s right for the children, the Unions decided to act irresponsible and deny their own children a good education.  Now, the Union blames the Governor of Hawai’i for their bad decisions.   Do these Union people understand they are hurting their own children’s future?

COLORS OF SOCIALISM

Well, it is freedom of speech.  Nothing is different about either this protest, or a Tea Party protest.  When it comes to free speech, this is it, and this is where I, part reason and agreement, 180 degrees from the Unions.  The First Amendment’s purpose is to allow free assembly, and opinion of, and by, the populace, groups, organizations to express their agreement with the government, or their displeasure thereof.   So what?

I was searching for a video of the Springfield Union demonstration where they are screaming “Raise My Taxes”, when Allapundit at HotAir just posted it.  Unfreaking Believable!

Ha’ina

Why not let capitalism work for you?  You’ll get government accountability, and the ability to better manage Taxpayers money.  Just like in private industry, the government should be outsourcing public services.  Those services should be actively bid upon by private groups for the jobs the state will pay for.  From Teaching to Trash collection, these services should be hired, and fired, based off of performance goals.  If a group working for the state fails to meet the requirements of the job, then they should fire them, and another group should be hired to do the job.

Make government to work like a regulated business, with profit and loss statements, and budgetary requirements.  Every State must follow these rules, why not the Federal Government.

Unions are a monopoly within State and Federal governments.  Private enterprise hasn’t a chance of getting any of the “well paying jobs” the government offers.  Once you get a government job, you are then required to join a Union.  Pay Union dues, follow Union rules, and vote for Union friendly politicians.  That inherently creates a conflict of interest.

SOLUTIONS

1. Outsource State and Federal Jobs.

Make the Unions work like real businesses that have to compete for work like in the Free Market.  If this Union didn’t work well on the job, then get rid of them and hire the other Union to do the job right.  But wait, there’s no other Union, is there.  There’s no competition.  There’s no real collective bargaining, unless you consider the collective, as being coerced, and assimilated by the Unions.  Give us what we want, or we won’t vote for you.  Collective Bargaining, or Collective Extortion?  Eliminate exclusivity of State and Federal jobs to only Unions.

2. Raise the taxes of the Union people, Only.

Leave all of us Non-Union workers out of the Union demanded tax increase.  You may want to even lower our taxes, so that as our prosperity increases, the government revenues also increases, just like during the Bush and Reagan tax cuts.  The model of Capitalism has proven to work, we’ve had almost 400 years of successful experimentation with this model.  With only progressive and socialist speed bumps along the way, this country has succeed  in being the leader of world economic development, economic harmony, and a greater standard of living.

Why do people jump fences, allow themselves to be cattle-carted in freight containers, and sneak into this country in the first place.  What is it that drives those people, from all over the planet, to this country?   Why would people make such sacrifices, to leave their families for long periods of time, and travel to this country?  What is it about this country that offers something that cannot be found in their country, or anywhere else in the world?

So, Unions want their taxes raised.  OK then, lets make a special law that raises taxes “ONLY” on Unions.

Problem Solved, don’tcha think?

As these people march down the streets of the Illinois capitol screaming for the state to raise their taxes, I have to wonder if they really understand what they are asking.  Raising taxes causes a ripple effect across the entire economy.  The cost of everything goes up.  Taxing one group over another, like taxing the wealthy, also causes detrimental effects to the economy.

When the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of the year, expect a sharp increase in the cost of everything.  It doesn’t effect one group of people, it effects everyone.  The Obamacare bill has hidden taxes that we’ll start to see very soon, so add that to the list of taxes everyone will have to pay.  The Value Added Tax being talked about will soon be rationalized and reasoned to help pay for an ever increasing government spending.

Get In Line

Unions and Politicians are running headlong into the trap of Socialism and government entitlements.  Where people will hold out their hats for a government handout.  Once that happens, it’s like feeding the stray cat living under your house.  You can’t get rid of it.
