Hawaii’s Dynamic Duo

TheEnergizedPair

It is a historical moment in Hawai’i politics; two native Hawaiian’s running for the two highest offices in the State.  James “Duke” Aiona is running for the governorship, and Elwin Ahu is running for lieutenant governor.  Both are campaigning as Republicans in a heavily democratic state,  Aiona was Hawaii’s lieutenant governor during the Lingle administration for two successful terms, despite working with a hostile democrat House and Senate.

Ahu is a senior Pastor with the New Hope church.  Ahu is running for a return to the framework of the Hawaiian Constitution which has been repeatedly disregarded by liberal democrats in the State Legislature.  Indeed, over the years, the democrats have stopped listening to the Hawaiian people, and have been catering to minority special interests.  In 2011, the legislature adopted to change the rules of beginning the legislative session by dropping the daily invocation.  A tradition that goes deep in the Hawaiian cultural roots, and despite a public outcry, the liberal legislator decided to ignore the people.

People in Hawai’i feel their voices are no longer being heard anymore, and many have stopped voting altogether.  One of the reasons for the low voter turnout is because that Hawai’i has become a one party state.  It is discouraging for most people that don’t get a choice.  Over the years, the progressive democrat party has stopped listening the the people of Hawai’i Nei..

The democrat candidate for U.S.Senate, Brian Schatz, whom was appointed by Governor Neil Abercrombie, barely won the primary election against Colleen Hanabusa.  The liberal democratic party machine made sure the election was in Schatz favor by disfranchising voters on the Big Island of Hawai’i.  After tropical storm Iselle, those residents that lost power, homes, and vehicles due to storm damage, were rushed to vote at the polls.  Many didn’t get a chance to vote because of the political maneuvering by the liberal political machine.  When every vote counts, it is typical for democrats to change the rules to fit their plans to keep control of Hawai’i.

I think this time the democrats have gotten enough people angry enough to change the tide of corruption that for years were owned by liberal democrats.  Abercrombie’s stunning defeat as chronicled by Hawai’i Free Press:

Abercrombie and Progressive Democrats have a vested interest in the results of balloting in Puna – With stunning defeats to Progressive leaders like Abercrombie and Clayton Hee, Brian Schatz stands as the only “Progressive Hero”[1] standing. Furthermore, Brian Schatz[2] is the legacy of Neil Abercrombie who appointed the Progressive against the wishes of the late Senator Inouye and even his own party.  With the political capital that was sacrificed, this is the closest to a ‘bright spot’ that the unpopular governor has left.

Indeed, Abercrombie lost 48 out of 51 districts across the entire state.  So what’s is the message?  Have the people of Hawai’i finally had enough of progressive liberal democrats?

David Ige won the gubernatorial primary from Abercrombie.  So who is David Ige?  Ige, 57, has served in Hawaii’s Legislature for 29 years – 21 in the State Senate and eight in the State House.  Ige is a career politician with little name recognition and achievements.  Obama’s choice was Abercrombie, and Schatz was Abercrombie’s choice; a progressive cronyism that permeates the democrat party by filling seats with party loyalists.  They all vote the progressive democrat party line, and not for the will of the people of Hawai’i.  This is also why the Lingle/Aiona administration won two terms, despite working with a hostile progressive democrat legislature.

Let’s compare the progressive democrat message to the Conservative Republican message.  Let’s start with Brian Schatz campaign message of fear.  Schatz campaign ads were about “Protecting Social Security” for senior citizens.  Yet, no one was talking about social security but Schatz.  A campaign to scare senior citizens using strawman arguments has always been a progressive democrat tactic for votes.  A campaign of fear, uncertainty and doubt has always been the liberal progressive democrat tactic.  Setting up an environment of social division and class warfare has been Obama’s strategy to try and place blame for his lousy policies on someone else, namely Republicans.  Schatz is using the same strategy.

The Ige campaign sounds very much like the same old, same old, progressive promises and policies.  Lofty and without substance.  There’s the same special interest focus on class inequality and the erosion of family values.  There’s the increasing division between our agriculturalism community and the cost of living in Hawai’i.  Ige proposes no real solutions, but plenty of platitudes to carry on the same failed progressives policies.  Ige campaigns on environmental sustainability and income equality, but doesn’t offer any programs on “opportunity equality.”   How can a Hawaii’s economic tourism be sustained by island views choked with windmills?  How will Ige reduce the high cost of food by increasing the regulations on food production by local farmers.  Ige provides no solutions.

Contrast that, with the Lokahi (Unity) message of Aiona, Ahu, Djou and Cavasso are bringing.

First, after tropical storm Iselle, the devastation to the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawai’i was huge.  Duke Aiona was one of the first to arrive on Hawai’i Island to help with the recovery.  Every news story was scrubbed.  I saw it in passing, and booked marked it to capture it for this blog post.  But you cannot find any media mention of Aiona’s visit.  I tweeted a message to Aiona asking about possible media bias because of the election issues in lower Puna.

Duke

Indeed, there was a plethora of stories about Schatz and Hanabusa giving their time to the media  in Puna.  Surely a campaign photo op to self-promote their campaigns.   Here was my response:

myResponse

I can appreciate  Lt. Governor Aiona’s position.  It says a lot about the character of this man.  It is something that I admired during his time in the Lingle administration.   There was transparency, honesty, fairness, trust and balance of the issues during the Lingle administration.  Yet, the hostility against the Lingle administration by progressive democrats did, and continues, to be a disservice the people of Hawai’i Nei.

Hawai’i has some real unique opportunities, and some real unique problems.  I’ve outlined some of the issues briefly above, but lets examine some of the some important issues that Aiona has addressed.

The homeless problem is getting worse.  Whether by drugs, alcohol, mental issues, cost of housing, or lack of opportunities, the homeless problem is getting worse.  There are other progressive states that are dumping their homeless in Hawai’i Nei.  How else are they getting here?  States with the same problems see Hawai’i as a generous place with abundant healthcare and plenty of warm beaches to sleep on.  Progressive democrats welcomed these people, with no idea how to care for them.

Another truth is, Hawai’i is losing our doctors and healthcare providers.  It’s getting more expensive medically and socially to help those that cannot pay, and for those that can pay.  The Obamacare exchanges have failed.  Abercrombie, and the progressives, that supported Obamacare are now conceding this “single payer” plan is a economic drain to the state.  It’s a failed policy that progressive liberal democrats never bothered to read the bill to find out what’s inside it, [sic] Nancy Pelosi.  What Hawai’i needs to attract Doctors and State of the Art Medical Treatment is an open free-market healthcare system.  Onerous taxes on medical equipment needs to be repealed, just like Obamacare.  Hawai’i has an aging retirement population and a growing younger population.  They deserve the best of care, which we have now, without having to fly to the mainland for medical care.  However, unless there is State leadership to resist a centralized government healthcare system, run by Washington D.C., then the progressive democrat message is, “don’t get sick!”

Hawai’i needs a government that uses conservation policies.  This addresses both environmental and economical needs.  Energy needs cannot be met by littering the landscape with windmills.  It is neither economic, nor is it pleasant to view.  Energy policies need a balance that includes harmony with the ‘Aina, and the economy.

Finally, the worse thing a society can do is to tax food.  This benefits no one, and it especially hurts the poor.  Regulations on local food producers, distributors, and providers only hurts the economy.  It only increases the cost and safety of food production.  That needs to be changed.  Aiona has campaigned on this policy change.  We should all look at sustainability beyond what environmentalist claim as a goal.  We should look at conservation as a method for economic and environmental sustainability.

Environmentalism uses emotion and irrational reaction to solve complex politics.  This leads to excessive government regulations and policies that hurt the poor and the economy.  Hawai’i need better than progressive liberal policies.  They just don’t work!

Vote For Rape

Media interest continues to grow over the Minnesota lawmaker that had a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old boy (emphasis Teen), both Republicans and Democrats have banded together to ask Representative Kerry Gauthier what his choice of rape-rape techniques were used for votes.

The ongoing campaign of prostitution by elected officials continues to be a huge public draw as the Rapes for Votes campaign continues to grow.  Not that rape-rape is at the top of national issues, it’s not!  Once considered politically destructive in some circles but politically advantageous in others; each has the same effect as if being either watched through the glass booth in a porn shop, the filmy glow of a computer screen, or the pages some magazine sold at the local convenience store.

As explained by Congressman Todd Akin, the scientific reasons why rape-rape is hard to turn away from, and that it’s similar to watching porn during legislative session when the reading of bills is just too boring to bear.

Who knew the best little whorehouse in America was just limited to Washington DC?  Apparently, under the noses of the main stream media, rampant taxpayer funded sexual rape-rape is a common practice across the country.  To the degree which gets the most attention depends on the political party.

Rape-rape as defined by such noted intellectuals as Whoopi Goldberg has become all the rage in upscale social and political circles.  Perhaps it’s that desire by politicians and pundits to get into the center of that public circle jerk and receive that splash of public moral outrage.  Hollywood stars give rape-rape two thumbs up the rectum!

It must be why most likely voters polled show that open political marriages  last the testament of time.  What was once considered as self-destructive behavior, but is now America’s favorite hush pastime.  No longer in the closet, rape-rape is being introduced to mainstream America at all levels of American society.  Learning institutions for the youth of America are being instructed by our Government’s Safe Sex School Czar on the ins and outs of rape-rape.

Yes indeed, the secret to political success is in rape-rape.  Considered the best political career move for name recognition and being the hot talk among the political grapevine.  Rape-rape is fast becoming the burning political issue of the nation.  The public is being seduced and the media has a fever for more rape-rape!

The economy is of no interest to the public because the economy is all about numbers.  Boring!  This isn’t legitimate rape-rape and the public is only interested in legitimate rape-rape.

Not to be disenfranchised and seemingly discriminatory, rape-rape is open to all Americans; young and old, mature and naïve, gender specific or unspecific, legal or illegal, rich or poor, aware or unaware.

An equal opportunity rape-rape for all Americans.  It’s time for Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public to bend over, grab the ankles, and take a rape-rape for the country.

I Was Inspired

I am inspired!  Last night, I had an encounter with great wisdom.  I had recently written an opinion article for my local newspaper regarding the Rush Limbaugh faux pas.  In it I explained that this wasn’t about what Limbaugh said, but about the moral decline being promoted by the Socialist Democrats.

Last night I received a phone call from an 85 year old elderly Japanese woman, she wanted to complement me on my opinion editorial.  Her name was Arlene, and she wanted to tell me how much she enjoyed reading my article that I wrote to the Hilo Tribune-Herald.  I’ve written opinion articles to the Hilo newspaper many times before, and on occasion people have complemented me on my ramblings.  However, this was the first time I had an hour plus long conversation with someone so passionate about losing a voice on the airwaves.

Arlene was disappointed by the decision by our local radio station KPUA to pull the Rush Limbaugh show from their programming schedule.  Having the dubious recognition of being the only radio station in the nation to do so, KPUA’s President Chris Leonard was obviously pleased with himself.  By punishing the listeners of his radio station, he must have felt he was making a bold statement for righteousness, or something.

Chris Leonard: Click on the pic to read the full story

“Apparently, we were the first in the country to cancel and it has generated a fair amount of national attention, which was certainly not our intent, and we have received a ton of feedback on both sides of the issue over the past several hours,” he noted. “We’ve heard a lot from Rush listeners who are disappointed in our decision and we’ve also heard from a lot of people who are very happy about the decision.”

Arlene was angry that KPUA canceled the Rush Limbaugh show, and she told me that she called the station to express her anger.  She told me she did not know what she was going to do without her daily listening of “Excellence In Broadcasting!”  She went on to explain that she agreed with Rush; that Sandra Fluke is a “slut”!  Anyone that would publicly shame themselves before “Pelosi’s Gang” is deserving of such rebuke.  I agreed that the larger point was not lost in the fluff of leftist manufactured outrage.

When Conservative women are disparaged by the left, not a word is heard by the elitist media.  Why does the media turn a blind eye at the conduct by so called late night comedians, leftist cable news anchors and leftist radio talk show morons that regularly disparage women?  In particular conservative women?

Media Mashup

Letterman’s top ten countdown – number 2, he makes a remark about Sarah Palin.

This is, apparently, acceptable behavior to the National Organization of Women (NOW).  Notice that they didn’t say a word about any vulgar remarks about conservative women.  That’s because in their feeble little hateful minds, this is acceptable in today’s society.  Allow some women to be discriminated against and then only defend those that fit their political views.  This is also because the National Organization of Women is at war with itself.  How else can you explain the content of their website.  They are promoting an appearance that women are all discriminated against.  This is patently not true!  Discrimination is not the exclusive domain of women.  People like me were not raised that way.  People like Arlene are not like that either.

Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda and others have expressed outrage over Rush Limbaugh’s comments and demand the FCC ban the show.  Considering the brain trust of these two, I would have thought their greatest collective concern would be either spit or swallow.  The moral outrage over a talk show host is lost in hypocritical hyperbole of “do as I say, and not as I do”!  Arlene and I spoke of this double standard and how it has poisoned the discourse in today’s society.  After all, it was Gloria Steinem that once said about housewives:

“[Housewives] are dependent creatures who are still children…parasites.” ~ Gloria Steinem, “What It Would Be Like If Women Win,” Time, August 31, 1970.

I was having an enjoyable conservation over the phone with a wonderful grandmother, a widower and a very intelligent woman.  A bold and passionate woman that was not afraid to speak her mind.  A woman with a voice, and not afraid to use it either!  A woman with health problems, for her age, but she was not afraid to pick up the phone and call me; to thank me for my opinion.  I was inspired and humbled!

How could anyone not want to hear a complement?  This was different.  She was praising a man she admired.  She was angry that a source of information was gone.  She was hurt by losing a friend on the radio for three hours a day.  She was emotionally distraught over a person that when they spoke, made her think, was now off the airwaves!  Much like the passing of Andrew Breitbart, I felt the same way.  She was grateful to know there were others like me out there.  Who appreciated free-thought and lived by conservative values.  I was inspired!

Arlene told me about her upbringing.  Growing up in the plantations north of Hilo town in Pēpē’ekeo.  How back in that time people didn’t conduct themselves like Sandra Fluke, out of fear of shaming their family and shaming themselves.  People had more pride in keeping with the morals they were taught.  Indeed, 85 years ago means she was born in 1927, and she lived through World War II, the Japanese interment and she has seen the changes in the world with a lifetime of experience.  Growing up on the slopes of Mauna Kea during the plantation days must have been an experience.  Back then, Hilo was just a small town and Pēpē’ekeo was just a small sugar plantation.  Arlene told me how she was raised with family values which she passed onto her children and grandchildren.  I was inspired!

Values that included pride and respect!  Values that included independence and interdependence.  Values that shared love and family.  Values that had mutual partisanship and commanding directness.  Values of respecting ones person, a temple, if I could use that phrase.  Something that seems in great deficit in today’s society.  The rational that contraception is cheaper than the full birth of a new life brought into the world is somehow a better trade off, is just frightening.  That was partially the subject of my article, but she saw it from a higher elevation and seen the larger picture.  She called me at home to tell me that.  I was inspired!

Bart Simpson explains Sandra Fluke

We agreed that if there was a War on Women; that I would surrender.  I said “willingly”.  All joking aside, my conversation with her was thrilling!  She went on to explain how she called the radio station’s phone number (KPUA), and voiced her displeasure with the stations decision to cancel the Rush Limbaugh Show!  She also told me she apologized to the station operator for her choice in language.  She did not elaborate on what she said explicitly, and neither did I inquire, but I can only imagine!

I could not imagine we are the only two people on the Big Island of Hawai’i with the same values.  I know we are not alone.  She told me because of her age and frail condition, she is no longer able to either drive, or get around without some assistance.  We talked about conservative groups here on the Big Island; The Conservative Forum and the Hilo Tea Party.  Both are a rich diverse group of people of both men and women that are like minded.  She was surprise and happy to hear that there were others out there.  Free-thinkers that often get together to discuss issues that affect our lives.

We talked about the entitlement mentality, the desire by people to depend on handouts from the government.  They call those handouts, free!  A right!    We talked about a variety of topics from family to politics.  We talked about how we make decisions and what guides our decision processes.  We talked about the Hawai’i caucus taking place today.  We talked about our candidates of choice.  We talked about the current administration, and local politics.  I was impressed by Arlene’s knowledge of current events.  If I didn’t know better, I’d say she was getting her news feeds via twitter or facebook.  I was inspired!

Not Having Babies Upholds Religious Liberties

Prostitute

“So you are saying, by not having babies born, we are going to save money on health care?”

The testimony of a Georgetown College Co-ed, Sandra Fluke, regarding contraception has brought a new level of disingenuousness by the Socialist Democrats.  After listening to her testimony, I can only come to the conclusion that she was a deliberate plant to further inject birth control into the political discourse.  It was Obama that declared that birth control would be provided “free-of-charge” by employers and insurance companies.  It was against the religious beliefs of many people, so Obama said, OK, then only insurers have to provide contraception.  Who pays for the insurance?  It’s the same thing.

Sandra Fluke’s testimony had some really outrageous claims.  Going broke paying for contraception; women getting raped and believing they had no recourse; getting cancerous tumors because of no contraception; basically a laundry list of sob stories and why religious institutions must pay for her contraception.

Sandra Fluke is a student at Georgetown Law. She’s also a “reproductive rights activist” who agrees wholeheartedly with the Obama administration’s controversial contraceptive mandate. Her reasoning, though, is likely to enrage some critics.

During a testimony in front of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on Monday (a meeting that was held by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi), Fluke — who was coincidentally the only witness heard — described the financial constraints that purchasing birth control puts on her peers.

“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy,” Fluke said, referring to the fact that the university doesn’t pay for contraception. “Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school.”

She detailed, among other stories, how one woman felt “embarrassed” and “powerless” at the pharmacy counter when she “learned for the first time” that contraceptives weren’t covered by the university’s health care plan.

CNS News’ Craig Bannister, though, challenged Fluke’s $3,000 figure and came up with some pretty interesting numbers: $3,000 for birth control in three years? That’s a thousand dollars a year of sex — and, she wants us to pay for it. […] At a dollar a condom if she shops at CVS pharmacy’s website, that $3,000 would buy her 3,000 condoms — or, 1,000 a year… Assuming it’s not a leap year, that’s 1,000 divided by 365 — or having sex 2.74 times a day, every day, for three straight years. And, I thought Georgetown was a Catholic university where women might be prone to shun casual, unmarried sex. At least its health insurance doesn’t cover contraception (that which you subsidize, you get more of, you know).

This isn’t the first time Fluke has made her voice heard in the halls of Congress. Earlier this month, it was reported that Democrat Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Eleanor Norton (D-DC) and their anger over the lack of female witnesses present at a previous contraceptive hearing.

The congresswomen wanted Fluke to be permitted to speak at the event, but Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) declined to allow it, stating that Fluke was not an expert in religious freedom, which was the issue being investigated.

Fluke, though, responded by claiming that women should be included in the discussion. She also alleged that a friend of hers died because of a lack of access to contraception and accused Issa of silencing the people who have the most authority to speak on the subject.

Contraception is easily available through many sources.  Planned Parenthood is one source that will supply contraception.  The example she used in her testimony is absolutely either false or just the worse case of personal responsibility.  However, I think there is something else that no one is considering.  It’s to distract from Obama’s abysmal record.

Obamacare is unconstitutional.  The Socialist Democrats know that.  Nazi Piglosi knows that.  That’s why the Socialist Democrats want more power over you.  They know that Obama cannot get reelected on his record, so they are creating a non-issue to deflect from Obama’s abysmal record of policy failures.  By non-issue I mean it is not a national issue that deserves to be apart of the dialog for either the Presidential or State elections.  It is an important issue for people of faith because it violates their consciences, and it’s not just Catholics, it’s all religions that find contraception objectionable.  I find it objectionable for the same reasons, including the First Amendment establishment clause.  It is simply unconstitutional.

No one is denying contraception to either women or men.  What Obama is saying is that it has to be made free-of-charge.  Other than the air we breathe, nothing is for free.  This is disguised as social justice.  They are saying that I must pay for free contraception.  However, contraception is available everywhere, and in some places it is free.  The government practically gives it away.  So why is this becoming an issue?  It’s a deflection away from Obama’s and the Socialist Democrats failed policies.  While everyone is distracted with this non-issue, our soldiers are getting killed because of Obama apology to the Afghans who desecrating their own book.  This regime is spending trillions of tax dollars on failed green energy projects.  This regime is destroying American jobs, and we are fixated on contraception?

Of course, anyone who heard former Presidential candidate Obama utter his “that’s above my pay grade” answer to Reverend Rick Warren’s question as to “when a baby gets human rights” – either had their head in the sand – or was no friend of children in the womb themselves.

President Obama has selected Catholics to serve in his administration who openly defy their own Church. Now, as if that wasn’t bad enough, all of the subterfuge and sophistry which has surrounded his promise to honor religious liberty and respect freedom of conscience in the implementation of his “Affordable care Act” has been unmasked.

“The Obama administration has drawn an unprecedented line in the sand. In effect, the president is saying we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences. To force American citizens to choose between violating their consciences and forgoing their healthcare is literally unconscionable. In effect, the president is saying we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences. To force American citizens to choose between violating their consciences and forgoing their healthcare is literally unconscionable.” (Cardinal Designate Dolan, Abp of New York, President, USCCB)

Rush Limbaugh gets demonized for speaking the truth about this slut that parades herself in front of the public and smugly makes unsubstantiated claims about contraception and women’s health.  If Limbaugh’s sponsors think by pulling their ads from his show is going to make me run out and get a sleep comfort mattress, they are fooling themselves.  Perhaps they can give a mattress to Sandra Fluke since she probably has worn out her bed from all the sex she having.   Are the parents of this slut proud of her?  Maybe they are, I don’t know.  Seriously, what did she think was going to happen?  Did she think no one would question her testimony?  Did she think throngs of women would come to her defense?

I know there are going to be people, women in particular, that will defend Sandra Fluke.  They will chastise anyone and claim you are being misogynistic towards women.  They will claim that a woman has a economic disadvantage.  They will claim that this is all about woman’s health concerns.  Affordable access to healthcare. Really?  Under Obamacare, you won’t have any choice, you won’t have any healthcare freedoms. Under Obamacare’s death panels, that cystic on your ovaries might not be covered.  If the panel of government healthcare overseers determines that you, the woman, are no longer of any revenue value (taxable capability), you’ll be denied the operation you need to survive.  Obamacare might either give you a pill, or the option to end your life.  That is the reality of Obamacare.  So this whole argument of women’s reproductive rights is a farce.  Obamacare might provide you with the morning after pill, but if they determine the cost of your health is not worthy of the money spent, you will be given another alternative.  One that probably will not be to your benefit.

It doesn’t matter if her testimony was either about herself or others, what matters is her insistence that a religious college pay for contraceptive services.  What matters is Obama has said contraception must be supplied free-of-charge.  What matters is that no one is talking about the sex partner, why isn’t the sex partner helping to pay for their own contraception?  What matters is Obamacare will force you to either purchase a product or the government will penalize you.  It has nothing to do with economics, it has everything to do with religious freedom.  It has nothing to do with women’s health, it has everything to do with promiscuity.

The Blog College Conservative has weighed in with an appropriate rebuttal to Sandra, “the spokeswoman for all of Georgetown”, Fluke.  It is well worth the read!

Sandra Fluke doesn’t speak for me. Or for Georgetown.

She doesn’t speak for those of us who worked hard to be able to choose to come to a great institution with a great tradition of faith and scholarship. She certainly can’t speak for the Jesuits who dedicated their lives to God and Education with a long established set of rules. There are only ten of them, and Ms. Fluke would do well to give them a quick read.

Funny how the same side that cries “Get your rosaries off my ovaries” is the same side saying, “on second thought…please pay for me to have all the sex I want!” The people who espouse “pro-choice” “values” are the same people who say religious institutions have no right to choose.

They are struggling financially, Sandra Fluke says to pay for their contraception.  Well then, charge for the sex you are having.  That’s your solution Sandra Fluke.  Become a working girl and charge people for all the sex you are having with them.  Then you can pay for your contraception yourself.  You might even have enough money left over to pay your way through college.  Maybe even buy some new clothes and shoes.  Be an entrepreneur, a business person and provide for yourself.  It is insulting to me that this whore will tell me that I have to pay for her contraception.  So she can spread her legs to every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes along.  No one is denying her right to prostitute herself.  Just be aware it might be against the law.

My parents chose life over selfishness, and therefore….I have a say!!!

The song at the end is Matt Maher’s “Isaiah 61”

But the absurdities’ don’t end here.  Kathleen Sebelius, Obama’s Secretary of Health and Human Services and brain fart, tried to make the claim that a decrease in human beings will cover the cost of contraception.  WHAT???  During a House hearing Sebelius insisted that the mandate “upholds religious liberty”.  So by forcing people to pay for a product they don’t want and find morally objectionable, that’s liberty?

You have to wonder if Sebelius is either on drugs, or she thinks that you are that stupid to believe the garbage spewing out of her pie-hole.  Here’s a portion of the exchange:

During the subcommittee hearing, Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) said that contraception provided by insurance companies to people employed by religious organizations under the future form of the rule Sebelius described would not be was not free.

“Who pays for it? There’s no such thing as a free service,” Murphy asked.

Sebelius responded that that is not the case with insurance.

“The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for cost of contraception,” Sebelius answered.

Murphy expressed surprise by the answer.

“So you are saying, by not having babies born, we are going to save money on health care?” Murphy asked.

Sebelius replied, “Providing contraception is a critical preventive health benefit for women and for their children.”

Murphy again sought clarification.

“Not having babies born is a critical benefit. This is absolutely amazing to me. I yield back,” he said.

Equally as disappointing are the political candidates climbing aboard the SS Condom and wag their finger of shame at Rush Limbaugh.  The ship of fools is eager to get off topic and get suckered into an issue that has no national bearing.  Speaker John “crybaby bonehead” Boehner condemns Rush Limbaugh as does Rick Santorum who called Limbaugh absurd.  IDIOTS!!  Instead of talking about Obama’s failed policies, the bad economy, the high unemployment and high gas prices, they’d rather sail off into the sea of irrelevancy.  Good luck defeating Obama in November.

It is so disappointing to see our side getting in the mud with the “democRats”.  The “democRats” have successfully placed a ring in the noses of the GOP and are leading them around like donkeys.  The democrats have kept the candidates off message by creating a false issue that takes away from other priorities.  The GOP is campaigning for Obama’s reelection.  Even Mitt Romney agrees with the individual mandate (if you thought Romney was going to repeal Obamacare, you are wrong), he even wrote a oped in USA today explaining how his version of Romneycare will work for Obamacare.  You can read it here!

You Are On Your Own!

I Am Obama! I Bring Hope and Change!

“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own,” he said. “That’s not the America I believe in. It’s not the America you believe in.”

Of course it’s not the America you believe in, Obama:  You believe in a Socialist America.  You believe that America is unworthy of its successes.  You believe in big bloated government bureaucracies.  You believe in job crushing regulations.  You believe that America is not Exceptional.

We’re those Bitter Clingers that hang on to their guns and religion.  Remember that little remark?  Even then, Obama was laying the groundwork of dividing the American people into classes.  The haves and have nots:  Conducting class warfare on the American people was Obama’s Hope and Change!

At a fundraiser in San Francisco on October 25, 2011, President Obama says Americans have lost “our ambition, our imagination.”

No, we haven’t lost our ambition, or imagination.   However, we are now focusing on removing you from office where you can no longer do more harm to this Great Country.  Hope, will remove you from office, and Change, will be for the better once you are gone Obama!

Obama cannot run on his record for reelection, and he knows it.  His policies are destroying the economy.  His regulations are killing jobs.  And Obama says Congress is dysfunctional???!!!!  WTF!!!

This is Obama campaign message:  You’re On Your Own!  What a message that is.  What about your accomplishments?  Obamacare is proving to be a disaster beyond comparison!

Here’s a discussion on Fox News this morning with Martha MacCallum, Alan Colmes and Gretchen Hamel regarding Obama’s idiot remarks.  Watch Alan Colmes go off on the deep end of idiocy and watch Martha MacCallum get visibly annoyed with Colmes.   Click on the graphic to watch!

Colmes is but a string of half-baked liberals that get paraded before Fox News for their opinion.  It keeps the “Fair and Balanced” meme that has made Fox the leader in cable news.  I will say that the liberals on Fox are completely unbalanced, but that’s what makes Fox so appealing.  You get to listening to the nutty reasoning, lame excuses and mischaracterization of conservative issues.

Hot Air In Hawai’i

As we get started in the 2012 election cycle, a number of polls and surveys are floating around asking who your favorite candidate is.  Given that many of these polls can be subjective to the questions asked and who is being asked.   Some polls sample groups as large as 1,000, is that large enough to get a realistic view of that people are thinking?  To date, I’ve only been involved in less than a handful of polls regarding political preferences and that been over the phone.

In Hawai’i, many people will blindly vote to reelect Obama and the reasons range from; he was born here, to, I really like the free government stuff.  However, a lot can happen between now and December 2012.  As the cost of food, gas, and other necessities keep rising, along with unemployment, the changes for any incumbent to be reelected becomes slim to none.  But after all, Hawai’i did vote in a “Tax and Spend” Governor.  So much for objective and responsible voting.

The Republican field of candidates remains large.  To date, there are some 26 potential contenders for the President of the United States.  Some of the candidates are serious, some are just wishful, and some are just a joke.  Assuming that Obama will go unchallenged by his own party, the polling focus will be on who the Republican favorite will be to challenge Obama.

For weeks, polls have been focused on a candidate’s favorable rating.  Usually they poll about ~1,000 people, but often times they never give the demographics.  Even when they do, it’s sometimes hard to really get a good picture of where and how distributed the polling data is gathered.  For example, a poll was done about Sarah Palin’s negativity numbers.  They sampled about 700 people.  Where?  In Long Island, NY, a liberal enclave of democrats.

HotAir.com Greenroom writer, Patrick Ishmael, has developed a unique way of visualizing polling data.  Using a program called Tableau to take the collected polling data and creating a graphic display of the results.  The information collected from the individual is done once.  The Zip Code and Telephone Area code is captured to get the geographic location of the polled individual, along with other information such as age and sex.  The next series of questions has the polled individual responding to their Presidential favorite, Vice Presidential, alternate if their favorite doesn’t run, and a series of questions based on political ideology.   You don’t have to be registered with Hot Air to take the poll, and the poll is designed to prevent the democrat practice of voting often.  This way the polling data collected is reasonably an accurate reflection of the individual.  Over 6,000 responded!

Each candidate in the poll is color coded to easily recognize the geographic location of those responding to the poll.  You can click on the candidates name on the list on the left to filter out the other candidates.  The map allows to pan and zoom into locations to a more detailed view.  Additionally, hover your cursor over any of the color coded circles displays the Presidential preference and the Zip Code.  In addition to a plethora of graphs and charts that breaks down the polling data into easy to see, the data can be combined with past polling data to see trends.

While the 48 contiguous states are displayed, the map controls all you to see the States of Alaska and Hawai’i.  I had always wondered if there were other people in Hawai’i that were Hot Air readers, and apparently there are quite a few.

There were more Hot Air readers in the State of Hawai’i than I had ever imagined.  I knew of some readers on O’Ahu, but I had no idea there were readers on Moloka’i!  In previous poll maps, there was at least one reader on Kaua’i Island, that didn’t show up on this round of polling.  However, Maui and Moloka’i was a surprise.

Here’s my humble contribution to the polling data.  One thing is for sure, for each poll that was conducted, a clear winner has constantly surfaced, and that has been Gov. Sarah Palin, and by very wide margins.  In this round of polling, out of the 6,000+ polled, the former Alaskan Governor garnered a health lead of 27% of the votes.  This has not been the first poll where Sarah Palin came out on top.

Again, since these polls have been conducted, the winner each time has been Gov. Sarah Palin, by a wide margin.  The other potential candidates seem to ebb and flow with the political tides.

Why has Sarah Palin been at the top of each of these polls?  I really don’t know given the swath of Hot Air reader’s views, especially in the comment sections.

I admit that if Sarah Palin does decide to run, I will vote for her.  However, there are some really solid candidates that I would consider should Sarah Palin not run for President of the United States.

However, it way too early, in my view, for anyone to determine who will be the eventual front runner, that will defeat Obama in 2012.  Also, there are some candidates that are just pure jokes, such as Donald Trump, who is nothing more than a circus clown vying for attention.  As we get closer to the Fall, and into the 2012 New Year, a front runner will eventually appear.  Till then, it’s anyone race.

From what I can gather, there are Hot Air readers that participated in this poll located on the Big Island Hawai’i in Mountain View, Na’alehu, Captain Cook, Kailua-Kona, and Waikoloa Village, besides me in Kea’au.  It’s refreshing to learn there are more like minded people here than I’ve ever imagined.
