Aloha Hoʻokomo ʻAna Lā. Happy Aloha Friday. It is Hawai’i Statehood day. Also known as admissions day. Hawaii’s Statehood Day is observed each year on the third Friday in August. It commemorates the day the Hawaiian Islands became the 50th state of the United States of America: August 21, 1959.

Each morning, students raise the American and State Flags. Then recite the National Anthem and the Hawaiian National Anthem “Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī”.
