Defining racism. When listening to the lame-stream-media and Democrat lawmakers (our slave owners), describe racism as a right-wing phenomenon. It’s talk-radio, it’s FOX♥NEWS, it’s Conservatives, it’s Tea Party’ers. Even in today’s Hilo Tribune-Herald newspaper, the editorial cartoon depicts conservatives as deranged hate mongers making threats and committing violent acts.
Yet, these people, the liberal left, use foul language, sexual innuendos, and commit property damage when they gather to demonstrate. There hasn’t been any documented violence by conservative demonstrators, yet the left continues to provoke conservatives as bigots. Conservatives are shouted down on college campuses. Yet liberals shouting death threats are greeted with open arms and are treated as free speech activists on college campuses. Is this the product of higher education? Or is it the product of liberal indoctrination? I would say “No Brainer”, but it clearly is, “Knowledge With No Volume”, or Value.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see liberals demonstrating their First Amendment Rights. Rights they would deny anyone that doesn’t agree with their point of view. In particular, conservative views.
This is discrimination against conservatives. That’s what’s going on. Maybe, it’s better to call it a smear. A campaign of misinformation to paint those associated with either the Tea Party, or conservatism, as racists. Nothing could be further from the truth. When the left is unabashedly violent, vulgar, and vitriolically hateful, as demonstrated in the video.

The truth is a hard sell when, ironically, the same people that accuse conservatives of throwing racism slurs, are the same people that are saying racial slurs. I challenge anyone to dispute this.
They, the democrats, passed Obamacare, without reading any part of the bill. Only now, are we finding the mistakes that we will be paying for generations. Yes, we are angry. We are angry that Congress did not listen to the American People.

What do you do when you get bad news from your doctor? Life threatening bad news. How do you handle it? What do you do about it? My significant other, Mikala, has been diagnosed with Left atrial myxoma. She never had any of the common symptoms that would lead up to this discovery. However, over the years, an occasional low-grade fever and night sweats, was thought of as the onset of Menopause by most doctors. Although, she’s way too early in age for menopause, but it was the only the diagnosis doctors gave to these symptoms she occasionally gets.
For years, the doctors couldn’t find anything. X-rays and blood tests never revealed anything that would cause these symptoms. Some doctors just dismissed it as “everyone is different“, that’s an actual quote from a doctor to which we went looking for another doctor. And you thought health care was bad now.
Enter the Family Medicine Center at Hilo, Hawai’i. The physicians here decided to do an echocardiogram on my Mikala, and they found something they didn’t like. That led to more detailed testing. A Trans-Esophageal Echo (TEE) was performed at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu and it did confirmed that there was a tumor present in the inner left wall of the heart. The doctors recommended open-heart surgery to remove the tumor.
Thoughts can race through your mind at warp speed. Your life is at risk, you have to make a decision, quickly. Plus, you must trust those that are advising you about your health. Where do you go? What do you do?
Myxomas are polypoid, round, or oval. They are gelatinous with a smooth or lobulated surface and usually are white, yellowish, or brown. The most common site of attachment is at the border of the fossa ovalis in the left atrium, although myxomas can also originate from the posterior atrial wall, the anterior atrial wall, or the atrial appendage. The mobility of the tumor depends upon the extent of attachment to the interatrial septum and the length of the stalk.
Left Atrial Myxoma happens in about 1 in 500,000 people per year. There is a host of information that can be found on the web. Its the significance of where the tumor is located and what needs to be done to remove it. Open heart surgery is not a simple procedure by any stretch of the imagination. The tumor is located in the heart itself. The surgeon has to stop the heart and cut it open to remove the tumor. Then put you all back together.
We here in Hawai’i are blessed with the Queens Medical Center. The largest private, non-profit, hospital in Hawai’i it offers comprehensive and specialized medical care. Emphasis, private.
I’ve never seen a hospital like this before. It is beautifully architecturally designed with state of the art equipment, and staffed with the best of the best physicians, nurses, and support personnel.
It’s like walking into a 5 star resort. The people here are very friendly and helpful.
The moment comes. My Mikala is prepared for surgery and wheeled away to the operating room. That was at 7 AM in the morning. I await in the waiting area drifting in and out of sleep. I didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before. Even the wonderful dinner we had at the Top of Waikiki the night before hadn’t quelled my nervous anxiety.
Time drags on, minutes seem like hours.
There’s nothing to do but wait.
Finally, I get the word from the surgeon: Success.
And now, recovery. For the next five days, recovery.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many tubes and wires coming out of a person before. The equipment surrounding my Mikala watches over her like some robotic sentinel. Recording the heart rate, oxygen intake, dripping fluids into the body and fluids dripping out of the body. Occasional flashing lights on the monitoring equipment show different colors of red, yellow and green. I’m guessing that the color scheme speaks of danger, caution and OK.
Accompanying the lights are sounds: beeping pulse tones, and harmonica like sounds that tweet out some message indecipherable by me. Air tubes sound like that of Darth Vader, keeping breathing at a rate steady.
If I close my eyes, it sounds like some crazy casino in slow motion. I can hear monitoring equipment nearby in other patients rooms. The Intensive Care Unit is eerily quiet of human voices, yet there are nurses here moving about watching the equipment and the patients. But the sounds of the monitoring equipment is like a symphony of oddly automated machines caring for their patients.
After five days in the cardiac recovery center, it’s time to go back home to Hilo. Recovery has gone remarkable well given the amount of trauma open heart surgery causes. As I gather and pack away Mikala’s clothing, cards, and get well soon gifts, I contemplate the miracle that happened here. And indeed, this is a miracle is sorts. If this condition were never found, it would have been instant death for my Mikala if the tumor broke off the heart wall and entered the bloodstream.
We are lucky to be near a hospital with such an excellent facilities and staff. Queens Medical Center is a Magnet Hospital. Meaning, this hospital meets the American Nurses Credentialing and has embarked on an extensive review and systematic evaluation of its nursing practice. This is the same hospital that Rush Limbaugh stayed at during his heart problems in Hawai’i. Like Limbaugh said, “there isn’t anything wrong with the American health care system“.
I whole heartily agree with that assessment.
We may have, at this time in our country’s history, the best medical assistance in the world, but that is about to change thanks to a democratic congress determined to enslave the American people.
We’re also lucky this procedure was done before Obamacare was rudely dumped on to the American people. Would this procedure be available under Obamacare? I doubt it, and I blogged about this before.
What will be the future of this wonderful hospital under Obamacare? We know the goal of Obamacare is a single payer system. A government system that will put the private insurance companies out of business and the government will be controlling all aspects of health care. A Government system controlled by Washington bureaucrats. A system that determines what care you are eligible for. Just because the government insures you, doesn’t mean you will get the health care you need. Government mandated insurance will decide the cost effectiveness of your illness, and if your need for such a procedure will help you. Your children, your life, your family, is your cost effective enough in the eyes of your government overlords, meaning can you pay taxes. Then, you may wait a long time for an answer.
If you think I’m exaggerating, think again. Medicare is going to be used for Obamacare funding. Medicare is almost bankrupt. Social Security is now paying out more than it takes in. All Ponzi schemes like this, and Obamacare, end up in the end, bankrupt. Doctors don’t get paid, Patients don’t get care. It’s as simple as that. Walgreens has announced they will not accept Medicare patients after April 16th. Who will be next?
Still not convinced? Ask your Congress Person why they are exempt from the Obamacare plan.

This is the Progressive Movement, the Socialist Movement, The Communist Movement, all on display in Obamacare. This is true hatred for individualism. This is why Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, wanted a second Bill of Rights. He was a socialist. Just like Obama.
The Governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels, says we should get used to being like the Europeans. Many of us who immigrated to the United States left Europe because of government over-regulation, socialism, and oppressive government intrusion into individual freedoms. We came here because there was freedom. We left Europe because freedoms were eroded under the European governance model. Freedom of religion. Freedom of Liberty. Freedom of Choice. Freedom to Grow. Freedom to Earn. Freedom of Life. Freedom of Faith.
2,000 plus pages of legislation that passed Congress. They call it historic. I call it evil. This legislation is a Rube Goldberg maze of government contraptions that will suffocate what manufacturing is left in this country. It will ultimately destroy our country. It will kill health care in this country. The clock is ticking and time, set in motion, cannot be reversed.
Welina Mai, Greetings! Fate has us traveling to the island of O’ahu, the Gathering Place, for medical reasons. More on what those reasons are in my next post, but it ties directly into what’s happening with the whole health care debate going on in Congress tonight.
There’s a reason why O’ahu is called the Gathering Place. Early Hawaiian’s realized the significance of O’ahu’s location in the Hawaiian islands archipelago . In particular, on the Island of O’ahu, is the city of Honolulu, located on the southern leeward side of the island, it’s name in Hawaiian literally means “Sheltered Bay“.

There is no end to the activities you can choose from to do. Or you can just park yourself along the water’s edge and do nothing but relax.

Adorned with Leis, the statue of Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku welcomes everyone to Waikiki. Credited with popularizing the modern sport of surfing and a multi-Olympic Gold Medal winner in swimming, Duke was exemplary example of the Hawaiian spirit.

Spouting Water Beach is what the name means for this special place in Hawai’i. Like its name, it is unique, like that of the facets of a diamond. A jewel in the Pacific, and like the other islands that make up the Hawaiian Archipelago, Waikiki is a single flower that makes up the Lei that is Hawai’i.

World Class Shopping. You’ll find it all here. Everything from the simple, to the extravagant. The expensive, to the cheap. If you like shopping, then this is place for you to be.
So, we came here to Honolulu on health care business, and I will go into more details on why we needed to come to Honolulu for medical care in my next post. I promise it will be well worth the read.
But now, I want to share a favorite topic of mine, the “What’s For Dinner” theme I use to sign off my posts. To discover a unique experience in Waikiki, it is not only just the beach activities, the sun and fun, but it’s also the food. There are so many varieties of cuisine to choose from here in Hawai’i. There are so many different cultures that make up the Hawaiian populace. The people here have infused their culinary cultures into the unique cuisine that makes Hawai’i what it is. It’s a blending of cultures, and of food, that has been a natural evolution for Hawai’i. A worldly encounter that culminates into a unique dining experience for any individual’s senses to enjoy and savor. One such dining experience can be found in the heart of Waikiki that not only satisfies the appetite, but also fills the eyes with spectacular sights to see.
Top Of Waikiki
With so many restaurants to choose from in Waikiki, we wanted one that would be not only unique in quality of food and service, but in ambiance. We chose the Top of Waikiki. An upscale restaurant located atop of Waikiki’s business center. This restaurant offers a rotating 360 degree panoramic view of Waikiki as well as a wonderful dining experience. In circular settings where the guests experience epicurean delights, while observing the stunning vistas of Waikiki.
Spicy Ahi Poke Stack
The appetizer consisted of what the menu calls, a sambal and shoyu, crispy won ton skins, avocado creme, papaya slaw, kiwi lime vinaigrette, micro greens stack. While visually enticing, it was hardly spicy. Using a sambal infers some kind of heat for spicy flavor, but there was none to be found in this dish. Although the Tuna was finely chopped, it was fresh and firm. The flavors were nicely infused making the appetizer, overall, a nice treat.
Cajun Mahimahi
Mahimahi fish with Cajun seasonings over risotto, baby carrots and a balsamic reduction sauce. The Fish was seasoned perfectly and the risotto was cheesy and fluffy. Perfectly matched with the balsamic reduction. However, the baby carrots were not sweet at all. They were obviously old and had lost their flavor long ago. However, overall the dish was good.
Hawaiian Snapper Sous-Vide with Szechuan Seafood Udon
Snapper topped with fresh ginger, cilantro & scallions, seared with hot sesame oil, seared Day Boat scallops, spicy crab udon, lup cheong, white Shimeji mushroom & Tokyo Negi in a bonito consomme. A complex, if not intriguing, series of ingredients that made up this dish. The fish and scallops were cooked to perfection and the bonito broth was an exceptional pairing. However, I could not find any Chinese sausage or lup cheong in the dish. Neither could I find any Tokyo Negi, but maybe they substituted it with the baby bok choy I did find in the dish. Either way, it didn’t diminish the quality of the food nor the presentation.
Mango Butter Dinner Roll
Very clever and tasty. A sweet, but not too sweet, a buttery flavored dinner roll that could almost pass as a dessert. It complemented all of the dishes very well, and did nicely on its own.
Mango Creme Brulee
Without a doubt, an ingenious twist on eggs, cream and brown sugar. A perfect ending to a marvelous evening. Overall, 4 and one half stars, out of five. Well worth the price.
So now, as congress has voted to take over 1/6 of our economy, the taste of a last meal may be all we have left. Decisions that I will make in the future to have a delicious meal, like this one tonight, will eventually be taken away. It will not be permissible by the standards congress will impose on the American people. Controlling what you eat will be part of the health care law. What you will be able eat will be regulated by the food police. For health and global warming reasons. Foods that cause flatulence, will be restricted.
As with other social programs, Social Security and Medicare, programs that are currently bankrupt, and are destroying our nation’s economy. And yet, the Congress is going to saddle the American people with more taxes, less choices, less opportunity, and less freedoms. All in the name of health care. Economic security will be lost. Doctors will leave their practices. Some government pencil-neck bureaucrat in Washington D.C. will decide your eligibility for health care.
Our Nation is in Decline. One last meal before opportunities, like tonight’s dinner, will be lost forever as affordable, and available. The interest will be waning because of a Congress that thinks it knows better than you do. Individualism will be lost. Collectivism will drown the voice of the people. A last meal indeed.
Al Gore finally reappeared after hiding in his house that carbon credits built, to write an op-ed for the New York Times. Al Gore opined in the Times about how misunderstood Global Warming is, and those that do not believe in his fraudulent scheme are, sadly stupid.
It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.
Prove It! I’ve always asked Al Gore to prove it. Of course, Al Gore cannot ever prove it because there are no facts to backup his statement. What calamity? What data do you have that will prove warming will cause world calamity. Where in history, science or any other means to prove your assertion that human civilization is at risk. Just because you say it’s so? How about some science to backup your claim.
We would no longer have to worry that our grandchildren would one day look back on us as a criminal generation that had selfishly and blithely ignored clear warnings that their fate was in our hands.
Oh, so now, we’re criminals? You use an imaginary product you call a “Carbon Credit“, and you attempt to sell it as a commodity. You are selling, for the purposes of defrauding industry, businesses and people, something that has no value, doesn’t exist, but to line your pockets with other people’s money. That is criminal intent. This is called “Grifting” – as defined as a group of methods for obtaining money falsely through the use of swindles, frauds, dishonest gambling. This is your crime Al Gore, and I hope you are eventually prosecuted and jailed for your Crimes Against Humanity.
But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work over the last 22 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
There were more than just two mistakes. The data has been fabricated. The data has been deliberately falsified. Hundreds of emails that proved the existence of a conspiracy to deliberately cook the data. Exaggerated computer models that produce simulations that defy the laws of nature. Monitoring stations placed close to artificial heat sources, like air conditioners exhaust, producing erroneous data collection. What you fail to disclose, Al, is that Phil Jones has publicly stated there hasn’t been any warming since 1995.
But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged.
There is no consensus in science. You don’t vote for a scientific conclusion. That’s not science. Peer review data has never been reviewed. Dissenting scientific views have been admonished and ignored by the IPCC because it doesn’t follow the narrative of Global Warming. Phil Jones has said the data was deliberately withheld, as Standard Practice.
The heavy snowfalls this month have been used as fodder for ridicule by those who argue that global warming is a myth, yet scientists have long pointed out that warmer global temperatures have been increasing the rate of evaporation from the oceans, putting significantly more moisture into the atmosphere — thus causing heavier downfalls of both rain and snow in particular regions, including the Northeastern United States.
That statement is completely absurd and false. You claimed that warming will cause the Ice Caps to melt and the oceans to rise. You said seal levels would rise and will cause massive flooding due to the earth’s warming. Just the opposite has happened. You said snow will cease to fall in in the Northeast. You have been preaching about run-away greenhouse effects for years. We have been countering that assertion because there hasn’t been a sufficient amount of water vapor in the atmosphere to cause a greenhouse effect. Now, you are saying the oceans are evaporating? Rubbish.
Almost all of the ice-covered regions of the Earth are melting — and seas are rising.
You just stated in the previous paragraph that the oceans are evaporating. Which is it Al? The largest snowfalls in the northern hemisphere in over 30 years. The substantial ice build-up in the Arctic that you choose to ignore, is a fact. Also factual, Ice melts in the hemispheres during their summers and builds up during their winters. Basic Science 101.
Hurricanes are predicted to grow stronger and more destructive, though their number is expected to decrease. Droughts are getting longer and deeper in many mid-continent regions, even as the severity of flooding increases. The seasonal predictability of rainfall and temperatures is being disrupted, posing serious threats to agriculture. The rate of species extinction is accelerating to dangerous levels.
For the last two years, hurricanes have decrease in number and destructive intensity. Droughts and flooding, all in the same sentence. Al, do you listen to the words coming out of your mouth? Do you know how contradictory you sound? Predictability of rainfall and temperatures are not the cause of Man-Made Global Warming. Which doesn’t exist in any shape or form. The Pacific Decadal Oscillation is a proven and natural effect of weather, and you summarily dismiss it. That’s Real Science. The effect of Sun Spots, and the Sun’s contribution to climate, is also dismissed by you. It’s all Man-Made. End of Discussion! RUBBISH!
The rate of species extinction is accelerating to dangerous levels.
The rate of new species being discovered, is astonishing. In Antarctica. In Papua New Guinea. 24 new species found in Suriname, Paramaribo. In the Colombian Forests. In the Ocean, that’s evaporating and being destroyed. Yeah Al, all that extinction is really causing a global catastrophe. Where’s your evidence of species extinction, Al.
Your science is fraudulent, and your leadership is vacuous. You are a criminal, a charlatan. You are a Snake Oil Salesman. You may have already caused your disciples to commit murder in the name of your cause, Global Warming.
