This week in Hilo Hawai’i, David Barton of WallBuilders was in town to speak about our nation’s history and its relation to the Bible. The presentation was held at the Glad Tidings Church in downtown Hilo to a very large audience. It was like drinking from a fire hose.
David Barton is the President and founder of WallBuilder’s which is a National Pro-Family organization that presents the little known history of the United States of America with specific focus on the religious, moral and Constitutional heritage.

I first learned about WallBuilders from the Glenn Beck show when it was on the Fox News channel. After several appearances on the Glenn Beck show, I started to do some research into the WallBuilder’s group. What I have found is a great wealth of historical information, the forgotten history of our nations past. In school, you are only taught so much about American history. Much of what David Barton covers is right from the actual writings of the Founders and others that played major influences in the creation of this country’s heritage. There was so much fascinating information presented in a short 3 hour period, that you could spend a whole week just digesting the material. What is significant about the David Barton’s presentation is that it comes directly from the written words of the Founders and others that helped form this nation. It is neither; information that was translated, rewritten, nor interpretative by another source. It is the actual documents, letters, and text of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the framers of our system of government.

On YouTube alone, there are plenty of comments and videos that have viciously attacked the message and content of WallBuilder’s presentations. However, none of these attacks have ever discredited any of the material WallBuilder’s has presented. No examples of exaggerations, stretching the truth and distortions of the material have been found in any of WallBuilder’s presentations. There’s a clip of Keith Olbermann, when he was still at MSNBC, where he spent 7 minutes ridiculing WallBuilder’s material, but he never cited a single example, not one quote! These attacks by secular leftist are nothing more than an attempt to prevent people from learning the truth of our nation. They want you to believe the founders were nothing more than rich white slave owners. WallBuilder’s are providing actually historical data of who our founders were, what they were about, what they believed in. This is not being taught in schools today. There’s a reason why our government today is dysfunctional. There is a lack of understanding of what the Constitution means. Why else would the 112th Congress open its session with a reading of the entire Constitution? Because the American people, our elected officials, and the world, needs to reestablish itself with 235 years of the greatest human experiment in history. It has been the elected Tea Party Freshmen, and women, in both Houses of Congress that have held the line on the Socialist policies of Barack Hussein Obama and the democrats. The democrats are not offering any solutions except to go along with Obama’s plan to continually expand the role of government in our lives. Their solutions are to raise taxes on the “Wealthy“. You know who they are, anyone making over $250,000, the small business owners, the job creators. These are the same people that are not shipping their businesses overseas to China like General Electric is doing.
While Immelt was calling for manufacturing to stay in the U.S., his company was at the same time shipping manufacturing jobs overseas by canceling an order with an American-based wind turbine maker, ATI Casting Service in LaPorte, Ind., so that GE could instead buy the parts from a factory in China.
Where are the fawning Obama media on this? Jobs are being shipped overseas by Obama’s consultant on creating jobs. Not a peep from the media. Such hypocrisy. But lets demonize the Tea Party.

An opinion article written by Wayne Allyn Root outlines Obama’s agenda to destroy our Capitalist economy and turn it into a Marxist – Socialist economy, dominated by dependent class government union workers. Obama is purposely overwhelming the economy through social and economic crisis. Here are some of the points:

— Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).
— Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama’s biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.
— Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who’s asking for a 51st state? Who’s asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama’s plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
— Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government.
— Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions — including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
— Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
As stated, if Social Security checks don’t get issued, then Obama will have caused it. Is Obama that cynical that he would allow Social Security checks not to be issued? The Social Security system is already programmed to issue check in August. Social Security is not a debt issue, because it is not expenditure. It has already been paid into by millions of people. Even though the government has been borrowing against Social Security for years, the trust fund that was supposed to be protected, is now in jeopardy of not being solvent to write checks because of a budget deadline?

The botched attempt by the Obama Regime to attack the Second Amendment through Project Gunrunner has failed. But who authorized it and where did they get the funding to pay for all those guns that eventually wound up in Mexican Drug runners hands?
Project Gunrunner was originally meant to assist State and Local Law Enforcement officials along the Southern Border by providing equipment and support in preventing Drug Trafficking. The operation was called “Fast and Furious”.
Scandal: Rather than a botched attempt to catch criminals, was the ATF program actually an attempt to advance gun-control efforts by an administration that has blamed Mexican violence on easy access to U.S. weapons?
The idea that American weapons were crossing the border and into drug runners hands, and caused the death of two Border Agents, plus hundreds of people caught in the crossfire, would have so outraged the American people that they would call for greater gun control. It backfired when it became clear that the Justice Department (DoJ) was behind the effort to walk guns into Mexico.
Rep. Darrell Issa, the California Republican who chairs the House Oversight Committee, was able to question Attorney General Eric Holder for the first time over the Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious scandal during a Tuesday morning hearing of the House Judiciary Committee. The scandal involves a sting operation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in which American guns – including AK-47 assault rifles and military-grade, .50 caliber sniper rifles – were allowed to be smuggled into Mexico and sold to drug cartels, with the goal of tracking the weapons after they’ve been used.
Soon after that, the Justice Department tried to pass the blame on local officials. That somehow guns that made it into the hands of Mexican Drug Runner’s hands were the fault of local officials. However, there is a much larger picture unveiling about the role of the Justice Departments involvement and some disturbing misuse of wiretap laws.
House Oversight Committee spokesman Frederick Hill told TheDC he thinks it’s disturbing that the DOJ is routinely approving wiretap applications like this one. “The assertion that the Justice Department has a robo-signing process for wiretap applications is a deeply troubling defense,” Hill said in an email. “Applications for wiretaps generally include detailed descriptions of law enforcement activities, sworn statements and explanations for why invasive wiretaps are crucial to an investigation. Claiming ignorance on an operation where wiretaps were approved by high level officials raises even more concerns about irresponsible and reckless decisions by Justice officials that contributed to the deaths of two federal agents.”
Are we to believe that the Justice Department approved of these investigations without knowing the specifics, reasons why, and desired outcome? That approval for this operation was without the knowledge of the Justice Department? According to ATF Agents, they were ordered by the Justice Department to allow the sale of American weapons to be sold to runners that took the guns across the Mexican border.
The larger picture is where did the money come from? What legislation was used to fund this operation?

For an additional amount for ‘State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance’, $40,000,000, for competitive grants to provide assistance and equipment to local law enforcement along the Southern border and in High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas to combat criminal narcotics activity stemming from the Southern border, of which $10,000,000 shall be transferred to ‘Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Salaries and Expenses’ for the ATF Project Gunrunner.

This is a Smoking Gun. The government knew about this, funded it, and the Justice Department under the Obama Regime, directed by Eric Holder, deliberately used this legislation to create a situation where American guns went to Drug Runners. Over 3,000 people have died as a result of this Regime’s attempt to place unwarranted restrictions on the American People’s Right to Bear Arms.
Just last year in a brief to the Supreme Court, Holder argued that “the Second Amendment did not protect an individual right to keep and bear arms,” that it only protected government militias’ rights to guns. He claimed that the Second Amendment posed no obstacle to implementing gun bans.
“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
The environmentalist’s faithful must be having conniptions over this news that the Planet’s anthropogenic climate change has been stopped and for the most unlikely of reasons. Who knew that Global Warming could be stopped by more pollution? What to do now?
A U.N. panel of climate scientists said in 2007 that it was 90 percent certain that humankind was causing global warming.
After all that studying, you would think scientist would rethink their theories about planetary warming, but they haven’t. They are more determining to stick to the United Nations policy of being 90% sure that Anthropogenic reasons are causing climate change. Being 90% sure means you’re also 10% wrong, and I think being 90% is being overly generous with their conclusions.
People can choose not to believe in [man-made] climate change – but the correct term here is ‘belief’ – believing is an act of faith, whereas science is a testing of hypotheses and seeing whether they hold up against real world data.
Still, only being 90% sure means that you still don’t know. By making claims that increases in the use of coal powered plants is delivering more CO2 into the atmosphere, and causing greenhouse effects that’s warming the planet, is still a theory. and not a fact. Unless you change the modeling and now claim that Sulfur Dioxide in the atmosphere is reflecting sunlight away and causing global cooling. Why didn’t the models take that first into account? How could climate modeling not include other particulates produced in coal emissions? Better yet, how else does a climate scientist maintain funding to continue the study of global warming? You do that by being 90% sure the data is correct. Convenient, isn’t it?

No. We choose not to accept the premise of man-made global warming as conclusive evidence why temperatures have fluctuated over the years, centuries, and millions of years of a changing planet’s climate. Who is to say that warming is a bad thing? During the Medieval Warming Period, temperatures we much higher than they are today, and neither did they have SUV’s, Coal Fired Plants, nor alarmist scientists with the belief that any change in temperature is all man-made. Perhaps these alarmists scientists have a motivation to make such claims; Government Grants. Because it’s certainly isn’t about the accuracy of the science. Here’s some data to ponder:
1. Huge temperature swings have occurred naturally over thousands of years, prior to any human CO2 emissions.
2. The Modern warming increase since the bottom of the Little Ice Age (around 1840) has been minuscule versus all previous warming period temperature changes when compared to their respective cooling period trough that preceded.
3. Over the 9,000 years, the average temperature increase from the trough of the preceding cooling period to the next temperature peak has exceeded 2.0°C. In contrast, the Modern warming has barely reached a 0.7°C increase since the Little Ice Age cooling trough.
4. There have been nine significant warming trends leading to temperature peaks over last 9,000 years; and, all exceed the Modern warming trend in terms of absolute degree change (increase).
5. There have been nine significant cooling periods over the same time span. Many cooling periods have seen temperatures decline by over 2.0°C.
6. The average number of years between temperature warming peaks is approximately 990 years. Since the last peak around 1040 A.D., it has now been 970 years, which suggests the current warming period is close to peaking before the next natural cooling period dominates.
7. All scientists agree that all extreme temperature changes prior to the 20th century were of natural origin. In contrast, it’s only climate alarmist scientists who believe that the temperature change since the Little Ice Age is all man-made.
So now, the climate alarmists are saying that China is responsible for the reversing of global warming due to their coal powered plants. What will be the next climate claim? Warming is caused by the burning of animal dung, like they do in some African countries, to cook food and heat their homes. If you are going to use Straw Man science like this, then make sure it first wasn’t consumed by a cow.
Obama said we must all have a “shared sacrifice“, but what does that mean? Other Socialist Democrats have echoed that same meme without explaining what it’s supposed to mean. Then again, this is how Socialist Democrats deliver their message of gloom and doom. There’s no positive spin, it’s all about taking from one person and giving it to someone else. You’ve heard similar calls of Social Justice as if there is either a crime, or some misdeeds, committed against someone or group.
The latest scheme by the Obama regime and the Socialist Democrats is to raise taxes on the “rich” and to raise the debt ceiling. In other words, lets target small business owners who are successful and take their money away. Remember when Obama had that “Spread the Wealth Around conversation?”
Punishing success is exactly what Obama has been doing ever since he got into office, and he said this is what he was going to do. He campaigned on it. The Lame Stream Media lapped it up. Obama made fun of the working class, the small business owners and the people that create jobs. They yucked it up!
Will the miniscule of taxes collected by those making over $250,000, all those that are considered by Obama as “The Rich”, going to effect the $14 Trillion dollar debt level? Not likely. At 35%, the rate of taxation is already excessive for most people in the top tier bracket.
What about those people that don’t pay taxes? What’s their sacrifice?
About 47 percent will pay no federal income taxes at all for 2009. Either their incomes were too low, or they qualified for enough credits, deductions and exemptions to eliminate their liability. That’s according to projections by the Tax Policy Center, a Washington research organization.

Tax cuts enacted in the past decade have been generous to wealthy taxpayers, too, making them a target for President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress. Less noticed were tax cuts for low- and middle-income families, which were expanded when Obama signed the massive economic recovery package last year.
Obama has decided to target one economic group and demagogue them as receiving unfair tax breaks. This is the same group that Obama claims can afford to give up their tax breaks, are also small business owners. Obama then wonders why small business owners are not hiring. Obama doesn’t have a clue. If you threaten, and target, a specific economic group and then expect them to spend money hiring and spending capitol, it will only create a atmosphere of uncertainty. No one will spend.
He reiterated his message that the 2012 political campaign is “about a set of contrasting visions” between the Republicans’ “cramped” vision that would cut entitlements and the Democrats’ “big generous vision” of America.
On the deficit talks, which stalled today after Republicans pulled out, he said one vision wants to “shrink” the government to size it was in 1930s, while his party’s vision “says we’re going to have to share sacrifice.”

Effron, partner and co-founder of Centerview Partners LLP; Marc Lasry, managing partner and founder of Avenue Capital Group; Mark Gallogly, a managing principal of Centerbridge Partners; James Rubin, managing director of BC Partners; and Frank Brosens of Taconic Capital Advisors LP, according to a party official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the list hadn’t been made public.
Obama likes being generous with other people’s money and dining with “Fat Cat” bankers on Maine lobster salad with roasted beets, duos of Black Angus beef, braised short ribs with young spinach, and roasted tenderloin with stuffed potato and hen of the woods. Meanwhile, companies like General Electric didn’t pay any taxes last year. The reason is because GE is keeping its profits overseas.
It’s GE Capital that keeps the overall tax bill so low. Over the last two years, GE Capital has displayed an uncanny ability to lose lots of money in the U.S. (posting a $6.5 billion loss in 2009), and make lots of money overseas (a $4.3 billion gain). Not only do the U.S. losses balance out the overseas gains, but GE can defer taxes on that overseas income indefinitely. The timing of big deductions for depreciation in GE Capital’s equipment leasing business also provides a tax benefit, as will loan losses left over from the credit crunch.
Obama’s vision is a failed vision where “shared sacrifice” leads to shared despair for all but him and his fat cat banking pals. The United States corporate tax rates are some of the highest in the world. Unions continue to price themselves out of the labor market. Corporations are moving their business overseas to take advantage of low taxes and low labor rates. This will further reduce the tax revenue stream and Obama’s solution is to raise taxes on the rich? That’s shared sacrifice?
Obama brags — albeit dishonestly — that he’s only raising taxes on rich people. Ninety-five percent of the American people will get a tax cut, the president insists.
Well, which is it? Do the times demand shared sacrifice from us all, or from just 5 percent of Americans?
Hardest hit in Obama vision of shared sacrifice will be the poor. Obama’s policies will raise the price of energy, food, and other goods and services. You can build a coal powered electric plant, Obama said, we’re just going make very expensive for you to operate it. In other words, Obama has promised to bankrupt any means of producing cheap electricity. Instead, Obama wants to force you to use expensive green technologies which most poor people cannot afford. I suppose the poor will heat their homes with animal dung like they do in some African countries.

The government’s approach to the bankruptcies of General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC illustrates how this new, unstated policy works: Bondholders are told to give up legal rights, and cash, as part of a government-mandated tradeoff that favors a politically connected special-interest group.
The big threat is that this policy will extend to all bonds, including Treasury and municipal debt, not just corporate obligations.
That sounds alarmist, even extreme. After all, the government has gone to incredible lengths to assure U.S. creditors — specifically, central banks that own trillions of dollars in Treasuries and other government-guaranteed debt — they won’t have to bear any financial-crisis pain.

Bondholders were given a 10 percent stake in the new GM and warrants to purchase additional shares down the road. The employee trust fund, meanwhile, received a 17.5 percent equity stake, as well as $6.5 billion in new preferred stock. This preferred stock pays a 9 percent dividend. So the trust will receive $585 million each year, while bondholders stew.
Much of the ultimate recovery for bondholders and the trust depends on the value ascribed to GM’s new stock, years into the future. No matter how you cut it, though, bondholders don’t get a fair shake.
“The UAW gets a recovery of five times the bondholders’ under reasonably upbeat scenarios,” CreditSights Inc. analyst Glenn Reynolds wrote in a research note. “This is just the fact.”
So bondholders now know how the Obama administration’s “shared-sacrifice” policy will work out for them. After GM, they can’t say they weren’t warned.
So Obama’s union buddies reap the benefit of GM’s bankruptcy bailout and the shareholders get the shaft. Is that shared sacrifice? It seems rather selective that the Obama regime is choosing winners and losers. Where is the shared sacrifice?
