Aloha Lāpule. Happy Girls Day in Hawai’i. Also, Dolls Day in Japan. My mother had a collection of these dolls in glass boxes on display in our home as decoration. They were stunning works of art.
Not being well versed in the Japanese culture, I do know somewhat of the religious celebration behind this unique Japanese annual festival. Hina matsuri, is also known as Princess Day for the names of the dolls, Hina. It’s held to pray for the healthy growth, prosperity, and happiness of girls. Here’s to a bright and happy future.
