Lei Day May Day

Aloha kākou. In Hawai’i, May Day is Lei Day. We celebrate by the saying “Aloha ‘ekahi i ‘ekahi” – Love one and another. Peace be with you and may the seeds you sow today runneth over into your harvest bins. The work done today will sustain us in preparation for the season of winter. That’s how it’s always been for centuries. Commerce, trade, bartering, buying, and selling is the capitalist constructive collaboration of a healthy and wealthy society.

Capitalism is the economic system in which investments are made. Ownership is how the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained by private individuals or corporations. This is the source of wealth and happiness. Especially as contrasted to cooperative state-owned means of wealth.

Socialism, by contrast, means the state owns the means of production, distribution, and exchange of goods. It provides no incentive for the individual to produce on their own. Decisions are made by faceless unelected bureaucrats that collect the fruits of our labor to be redistributed by equity. To each according to their needs and ability. Regardless of the individual efforts to produce more, the end product is shared with those that don’t produce.

The socialist mantra of “Worker of the World Unite” means work as hard or as little as you like, each will receive an equal share from all. In short, your bounty, your happiness, your wealth, will be redistributed to others. You can’t decide to keep, sell, barter, nor trade what you produce, and therefore, you become unhappy and toxic. Because the socialist system keeps you down from reaching the next rung on the ladder of success.

The first of May is also known as “International Workers Day.” However, the origin of May Day is the celebration of the Spring Festival that started in medieval Europe. A once wholesome celebration to welcome spring into summer. When the earth is renewed from the long winter’s grip and the lands are cultivated in anticipation for the fall harvest. Except these days the spring festival has been coopted by Communists that spread greed, hate, envy, and violence.

It is said that we can’t have anything nice anymore without leftists criticizing, mocking, and disparaging goodness in fits of rage. They’re not happy until everyone else is unhappy. Toxic Personalities of miserable people who can’t stand to see other people happy. They will do everything to ruin the happiness of others by any means necessary. They are the rotting fruit on the vine that poisons the joys of life.

I edited the photo to add “National Heroes” in support the bravery of these students. They stood up to the rabid IslamoNazis anti-American demonstrators. Brendan Rosenblum, a junior and Jewish student at UNC-Chapel Hill, had water bottles thrown at him as he stood in the middle of the quad holding an Israeli flag while protesters tried to replace an American flag with a Palestinian terror flag. This patriotism is truly from the American heart. In extraordinary times, people have the courage to do extraordinary things. This is an example of where the Tree of Liberty needs to be refreshed. Those patriots that shed their blood for this country now reside in Arlington. Heroes of all kinds that love this country, and who fought and died for this country.

Another way to look at refershing the “Tree of Liberty” is replacing Congress with fresh new faces. New ideas and innovative solutions. A restoration of national patriotism. It’s time to remove the greed and graft in government. Too many have made politics a career at the expense of the people they’re supposed to serve. They’ve forgotten why they were sent to Washington D.C. in the first place. Too far from home to hear the people’s voices.

To Save America we must all get involved. To act and prepare to preserve our Constitutional Republic. Which many in Congress mistakenly refer to as “Democracy.” Republic and Democracy are frequently used to mean the same thing: a government in which the people vote for their leaders. There are nuances and differences between these words. Democracy is ruled by a mob majority, whereas a Republic is ruled by a representation of the minority and majority. Equal representation for all.

Which is why the Founders despised democracy in favor of a representational government. The genius of the Electoral College prevents a democratic mob rule from being the sole power over the people. Our republic is an imperfect system, but our system of government has worked for nearly 250 years. It’s the reason why we are the wealthiest nation of God’s Green Earth. It’s why we have more opportunities. Why else do people leave their democratic and socialist nations to come here? People are not leaving here for elsewhere, they come to America. We must fight to keep it that way. Legally.

Our Constitution is the blueprint. The rock on which our nation was formed. All we need to do is read it, understand it, and follow it. We will last for a thousand years if we teach it to ourselves and our posterity. By the people, for the people, means the people are the masters of our destiny. We have the responsibility to maintain our house. We own it.

Socialist Tyranny

Aloha kākou. Happy Aloha Friday. The National Weather Service in Honolulu on Thursday issued a number of weather advisories for the Big Island (that’s me) that remain in effect throughout the coming days.

A high surf advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday for east-facing shores of Hawaii Island. According to the NWS, surf will increase to 7-10 feet. Strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents can make swimming difficult and dangerous.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. HST today for the summits of Mauna Loa and Maunakea. Poli’ahu is visiting the island. We always like a visit from the Snow Goddess. According to forecasters, a wintry mix of rain, snow and freezing rain is expected for the summits. Up to 2 inches of snow could fall. Forecasters cautioned of hazardous road conditions because of the wintry mix.

A wind advisory also is in effect until 6 p.m. today for portions of the Big Island, including Hilo, Volcano, South Point, Pahala, Waikoloa, Honokaa and Waimea. I don’t know why they make these wind advisories when the wind is almost nonexistent in my location. I guess I can forecast my dogs breaking wind more accurately than the weather.

Our local communities are doing what they can to survive. The Community Meal team of St. James’ Episcopal Parish launched the Pa’auilo Community Meal at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church. Over 400 meals per week are served at St. Columba’s.

Now for the news. The Big Apple Maggot, Mayor Bill de Bozo, admits he wants to steal your money. If you have money and can escape from New York, you’ll move to sunnier weather. Just as I did years ago. If you can’t leave the NYC tyranny, then you’re screwed.

Redistribution of Wealth equals robbery. There’s nothing else to describe what this is. It sounds wonderful to the socialist democrats. They love stealing other people’s money. They want big government. They want their lives run by big government. And they want everyone to comply with their fascism.

When it all fails miserably and people are being hurt, they conveniently blame others for their failures. They want to punish those that create jobs by taking their ability do business. It’s the socialist reasoning for economic justice. This social justice? Which isn’t justice at all, but when you rob others in the name of wealth redistribution, you realize it really means theft.

Why anyone would want to live in a New York State of Fascism is beyond me. The City and State used to be a great place to visit and live, but no more. When Republicans ran the State it was profitable and comfortable living. Now it’s in ruin, over taxed, and losing population rapidly.

Why is Florida doing better than New York? They have the same population demographics. Could it be that one is run by a conservative and the other is run by a communist? YES! It Is.

I’m going where the sun keeps shining. Through the pouring rain. Going where the weather suits my clothes. Banking off of the northeast winds. Sailing on a summer breeze. And skipping over the ocean like a stone.

 

Today’s weather started this morning with heavy rainy skies. Heavy rain continued throughout the day. Cloud cover is 91%. Visibility is 9 miles. Tradewinds are from the north at 3mph with gusts at 9mph. We got a 4-1/4 inch of precipitation in the rain gauge overnight. Temperatures are in the low 70’s with humidity at 95%. We’re under a high surf alert.

NLRB to Issue Final Rule Requiring All Employers (Even Nonunion Employers) to Post
Notice of Employee Rights Under the NLRA

On August 25, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB or Board) announced that it would issue a Final Rule, to be effective on November 14, 2011, that would require all employers subject to the Board’s jurisdiction—i.e., the vast majority of employers doing business in the United States—to post a notice in the workplace informing employees of their right, among other things, to “[o]rganize a union,” “take action . . . to improve your working conditions by, among other means, raising work-related complaints directly with your employer or with a government, and seeking help from a union,” and to “strike and picket.”

 

Obama is illegally ordering “Card Check” legislation into law without it first being passed through the Congress.  Another job killing move by the Keynesian socialist that wants to change the United States into a Socialist European utopia. Obama is determined to shutdown American businesses.

Using the National Labor Relations Board (NRLB) as the enforcement arm of the Executive branch of government, Obama is giving the Unions a token to remember him in November 2012.

 

Card check is popular with the union bosses looking for increased political power and increased dues money because it’s an open process that lets organizers know who’s on board and who’s not. It’s a fertile ground for the intimidation of workers and worse—which is exactly why we have elections in this country by the sacred institution of the secret ballot. And it’s this institution that the Arizona, South Dakota, and other state constitutional amendments recently enacted seek to protect. For the unions and their allies in the Democratic Party, though, these amendments are roadblocks that must be cleared away before their overall plans can come to fruition.

The NLRB has announced lawsuits against the states of Arizona and South Dakota because they passed, by citizen initiative, constitutional amendments that require secret ballot elections to form unions.  The Obama Regime is trying to intimidate states, businesses and workers by forcing them to be a part of the Labor Unions.  You do not get a choice.  The Unions will take your money, your pay, and use it to get Obama reelected.  They’ll use it to reelect more socialist democrats.

 

Where the current administration has failed to persuade Congress to adopt its legislative agenda, time and again, it has waived its regulatory wand and enacted the failed “legislation” as “regulation.”

Magically, it becomes the law of the land.

Since the rejection of the Employee Free Choice Act, the administration, largely through the National Labor Relations Board, has brought the legislation the Congress killed back to life.  

Consider these recent regulatory initiatives of the NLRB:

Expanded use of mail and Internet balloting in union elections.

Why? Because these ballots are not cast in secret.

Union officials could monitor the voting, accomplishing the primary objective of EFCA —  a vote outside the secret ballot booth and under the watchful eye of the candidate;

This is hardly constitutional.  It is Illegal.  What the Regime is doing is removing the secret ballot so Union Bosses can see how you vote.  If you don’t vote the way the Unions want you to vote, you will be targeted for intimidation, you may lose your job, you may be demoted, you may not get a pay increase, you will be punished if you do not vote the Union Label.  Disgusting!!!

 

It will cost jobs:

The agency’s action is seismic. If successful, it would undermine economic competition among states, which helps drive the American economy. Even worse, it would induce companies to export jobs not to other states that have lower labor costs, but to other countries that do.

This action by the Obama Regime is un-American.  It is what dictatorships and communists do around the world.  It will force jobs overseas to countries with lower wages.  It will force small businesses to close.  It will put millions of workers out of jobs.  This is a deliberate effort by Obama to destroy the free-market capitalist society and turn us into Venezuela!

Every single day there is some new information on what they are doing. The media is not covering it, in fact they are covering it up. I am hoping that everyone who sees what they are doing, is willing to spend the time to pass the information on. We have a very short about of time to stop what they are doing or we will lose our country. The loss of jobs alone will lower our standard of living. The loss of  freedom will ruin our country.

Indeed, there hasn’t been any reports in the media; not ABC, NBC, CBS, not the printed media either.  The blogs are reporting it.  Fox News reported it.  None of the other Lame Stream Media outlets are reporting this atrocity of the abuse of Executive power by the Obama regime.
