Flash Flood Watch

Hawai’i Civil Defense has issued a flash flood watch for this evening and through tomorrow night. We’re lucky to live in an area where the water flows around us. When the rains get really heavy some subdivision roads will flood out. These are natural tributaries that were formed by erosion and Mauna Loa’s ancient lava flows. The mountainous areas are the real problem because of fast moving water can cause landslides.

We are prepared for any event. Even the worse case scenario evacuations. Today has been very nice. It’s partly cloudy with strong trade breezes. The week weather predictions is calling for rain! That’s a good thing. We love the rain!
