The Living Reef

GBRcoral

Aloha kākou and Happy Aloha Friday. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is a wonderful place to visit. If you can make it part of your bucket list, then I highly recommend visiting. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. I had the opportunity to visit Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. The Living Reef was the highlight of my visit.

I landed in Sidney and traveled up to through the Gold Coast to Brisbane, and then a short hop over to the Whitsunday Islands. Where I stayed at Hayman Island Resort for two weeks. This was before a cyclone devastated the resort. Hayman Island resort has since been rebuilt into a modern-day tourist mecca.

I took several tours into the Great Barrier Reef. I swam with the coral fishes. Snorkeled in the reef and fed the Barracuda which were hanging around for our lunch scraps. I had heard that the coral reefs were dying. That pollution and man-made climate change was causing a massive die-off of the corals. But that’s not what I observed. The reef was very much alive despite the rumors that the reef was dead. I heard there was mass bleaching of the coral because of warming waters. That also wasn’t true.

Is Man-Made Global Warming threatening the Great Barrier Reef coral? I began investigating starting with talking with the tour guides and the local native fishermen. Surely, the people that work and live at the reef edge would know. I asked scientists with mixed results. Scientists tend to get their funding from organizations that expect specific results. To the contrary, data show that corals are thriving in modestly warmer waters, and the corals are expanding their range. Even in Hawai’i, the corals are growing.

What about this scientific consensus that says we should be worried about a looming climate catastrophe? While some scientists believe Earth’s climate is changing, the majority of climatologists are not particularly alarmed. The climate, weather, whatever it is they call it, has always been changing and the planet will continue to change since its formation.

Hawai’i Pajama Boy Senator, Brian Schatz, announced passing a Climate Crisis bill. With the help of Albert Gore and his wonderful Internet that he invented. It’s always good for our politicians to waste taxpayers’ money on trying to fix what ain’t broken, like the weather. What exactly was passed is still not clear, but I’m sure we’ll get the bill in higher energy rates.

I’ll never forget the short time I spent in Australia, and I hope to visit again sometime in the future. One thing I’ve learned is there is no such thing as “Man Made” climate crisis. Not from a worldwide abstraction, but from the local environment. There is the Great Gyer, the Pacific Garbage Patch, also known as the Pacific trash vortex, that spans from the West Coast of North America to Japan. There are actually five ocean garbage patches around the world that could be cleaned up, but if only the contributing nations tried.

Environmentalists seem to always take the costliness of solutions for the least effective results. Put up a windmill, solar panels, and build more batteries, the costliness of solutions, and only get more toxic pollution to clean up later. It’s the same with ocean trash and clean air. Their solutions are always expensive and unrealistic. Why not just pick up and broom and a waste basket to collect the rubbish? Simple, inexpensive, and easy peasy. We don’t need carbon capture schemes and more windmills.

Instead of the United Nations and the World Health Organization trying to control the human population and climate through regulations and dangerous vaccines. These organizations should be cleaning up the existing trash instead of producing more environmental rubbish. But they don’t want to address the simple solutions. They want more control over government programs to restrict food, water, and land usage. It’s easier to control people by frightening them and creating industry boogeymen.

The Living Reef will be here long after humans have come and gone. The Earth is a self-healing, self-renewing organism that will outlive humans. This planet has survived mass extinctions, ice ages, tectonic plates, volcanoes, asteroids, floods, and wildfires. But a few plastic bottles and Styrofoam will neither harm the planet today, nor tomorrow. If we want a cleaner planet, then we need to spend time and money cleaning the trash in the oceans, building better landfills, and creating less toxic government waste. That’s how we save humans first. The planet will always be here for us.

Wildwood

Wildwood2024

Aloha kākou. I’m sitting on the couch 5,000 miles away from Wildwood, New Jersey watching Right Side Broadcast News (RSBN) televise President Trump’s Rally. The crowds have exceeded 80,000 people. NJ officials are bracing for over 100,000 people attending Trump’s rally. That’s a record for a seaside resort on the south Jersey peninsula. The rally is happening right on the Boardwalk. This is truly historic and in a blue state that constantly votes for higher taxes and corrupt government. Never Trumper Bruce Strainspring can eat his heart out. I don’t miss it.

Some short video clips from the Atlantic City Press.

I used to live in New Jersey in the 1980’s. South Jesey to be exact. Franklinville, just north of Vineland, on Delsea Drive, Rt. 47. Exit 2 for those familiar with the Jersey Turnpike. Unsocial Media is abuzz with excitement. The Real President has landed in Atlantic City and is on his way to the rally. It’s a sunny day at “down da shore,” some people wearing warm clothing with lots of MAGA HATS in the crowd. Yesterday, all of Wildwood was preparing for Trump’s arrival.

Speaking of the weather. It’s a nice sunny day here in Hawai’i. Last night’s storms moved northward away. There is a wraparound weather effect that’s hitting the northern chain of the islands. Kaua’i is clearing out and the wet stuff is moving to O’ahu. Hawai’i island will probably see some rain by this evening.

Back at the rally, pollsters are registering Gen-Z’er like crazy on the boardwalk. I’m seeing lots of young people in the crowd as the RSBN cameras pan over the crowds. I think they are outnumbering Boomers, Gen-X, and Millennials. I’m hoping and praying they’re waking up to the woke nonsense. Now’s the time to seize the opportunity to have what their parents had growing up. That American dream of wealth, health, and prosperity.

Gen-Z needs to earn wisdom through experience. Their futures might be interrupted if the Marxist democrats enact the Draft to force young people to fight in Pedo-Joe Biden’s foreign wars. If anything, they should remember what it was like eight years ago and how the Trump economy worked to keep money in their pockets. No wars and a bright future. Vote wisely. Save America.

Weekend Meltdown

cryingdem1

Aloha kākou and Happy Aloha Friday. It’s the start of the weekend. I intend to spend my weekend watching movies, doing yardwork — if possible, and praying that the storm moving over the islands passes quickly with minimal damage. I’m prepared for any eventuality; generators, food, water, filled gas tanks, and a bugout bag in case of the worst-case scenario. It’s always good to be prepared.

The Fake News Media is feverishly putting together their weekend panels of legal experts. Stupid people pretending to be legal experts. It’s going to be wall-to-wall Trump Trial. Judging the judges. Which judge the fake news media likes better than the other. It’s a version of American Idol which a panel of self-appointed rubes get to form their useless public opinions. I’m going to be watching free movies this weekend. I rely on the media analysts to break down the weekend blood fest of disinformation for later comment. I cheat, so, sue me.

I’ll start with DroneTek with a breakdown of Fake News ABC’s Johan Karl, the Nazi Youth Camp counselor.  When confronted with the truth, the fake news anchor Johan Karl winces with that constipated look of disgust over Senator Tom Cotton usage of the term “Little Gaza’s.” Secretly, ABC News supports the Paleistian IslamoNazis on college campuses. Most of these media types, especially the Jews in the news business, are antisemitic. Everyone knows it is true but are too afraid to admit it. Watch.

Look forward to more of this anal-ist coverage over the weekend. I expect the fake news media to sympathize with the Palestinian IslamoNazis and Pedo-Joe Biden’s decision not to support Israel defending themselves. Let me reiterate, many of the bigwigs in the Big Three Newsrooms, New York Times, and other publications, are deeply antisemitic and many of them are jews. Don’t believe me, google it. I’ve never been able to understand that paradox.

I have nothing against the Jews per se, but many of them in positions of power are their own worst enemy. Even in Israel they have kooks that want to destroy their own homeland. The sooner they admit this the better. Even my own Roman Catholic religion has a Pope who is a communist. Catholic charities often do more harm than help. Which is why I stopped donating money. How does a cradle catholic like me reconcile this idiocy in my own faith? Join the Russian Orthodox Catholic church? But this post isn’t about religion, but about media manipulation. It’s my frustration with society as a whole. So, I’m venting.

Now let’s see Sivaady’s brilliant compilation of media judging the judges in the Trump bullshit trials. The Media Talking Heads are better at self fellatio than reporting the news. Million-dollar racists black news anchors wearing Trump toupees (Joyless Reid) that spout racist rhetoric daily. They don’t report the news, they spout their own racist prejudice opinions. Borish, unenlightened, and always angry.

The Fake News Media has only one topic to talk about and that is Donald J. Trump. It’s an obsession because Trump is leading in all the polls. I distrust the polls for obvious reasons, but if these polls are even somewhat accurate and not manipulated, then the leftists panic mode is real. There’s this narrative that must be pushed by the media to demoralize the voters. The promotion of media lies is astoundingly prolific. They believe this is what people want to hear. That’s Trump will destroy America. When we already had four years of President Trump and they were the best years of America. At least in my lifetime. The fake news media want us to believe them when they praise Pedo-Joe Biden as America’s redeemer. Believe our lies and not your lying eye and ears.

And finally, let’s go back to DroneTak for more media hypocrisy. In the case of, “It’s Okay When We Do It” the media defends Pedo-Joe Biden’s corruption. Supporting endless wars and blaming Russia for election interference. Then prosecuting President Trump for trying to investigate corruption. When confronted with the truth, the left goes positively batshit bonkers.

There’s an unholy alliance with the Intelligence Community, CIA, NSA, et. al. and their parasite patsies, the Marxist democrat party and RINO’s that make up the Uniparty in this country. Publicly, the Fake News Media and the Uniparty both claim Russia is manipulating the elections. That’s not true. The Intelligence Community has been rigging elections ever since the Kennedy assassination.

Russia’s influence is minimal over what the CIA, NSA, and other agencies that make up the Deep State Swamp has done to spoil our elections. Communist infiltration has been from within, and it never fired a shot. It’s been a quiet insurrection. A slow-moving Coup D’état They infiltrated the media, universities, and most public forums to spread mis-dis-information. It’s why they want the Ministry of Information to control the media narrative.

Weekend Meltdown for political novices like me keeps me somewhat informed about current local and world events. Sometimes I have the stomach for it, other times I don’t. Sometimes I punish myself with this circus as penance for the sins of being ignorant. I’m impatient with perfection and yet I cannot define what perfection is. But like kneeling in the confessional booth, this is my way to beg for absolution. My act of contrition will be working to Save America. Plus improve my grammar.

Da Haps

pololu

Aloha kākou. Places and things around the Moku o Keawe (Big Island Hawai’i). Starting with the northern tip of the Big Island in the Hawi district. Up by the Kohala mountains. The furthest place from my location on the lower east side Puna district. There’s a project underway at Pololū beach to protect the area as it becomes more popular with tourists looking for isolated parts of Hawai’i.

Over 20 years ago, I made the long trek down the Pololū trail to the beach. Then the long arduous back up to the parking lot. These days it’s crowded and hard to find a parking spot. It’s very quiet and spiritual there on the beach. Wading past the stream and the black and white sand underfoot. There used to be donkey tours back then. Don’t know if they still exist anymore.

Closer to home, activity at Kīlauea volcano is stirring again. There’s been an increase in the number of earthquakes in and around the summit which suggests a probable eruption. None of the quakes have shaken the house. Sometimes I hear the house creaking. popping, and cracking noises. But that might be normal stuff when the house expands and contracts with temperature changes.

We’re supposed to have a yuge weather event coming this weekend starting tomorrow on Aloha Friday. It’s supposed to last into the weekend. The weather service is calling for high winds, thunder, lightning, and possible waterspouts. That will be fun. The International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to fly over the island at 8PM HST tonight. I’m hoping the clouds will part long enough to view the flyover.

Time to charge the batteries and batten down the hatches if the weather does get rough. Rush out to the store for provisions (snacks) in case the roads flood and trees go down. The National Weather Service models look solid and that’s causing the Fake News Media to freak out. I think it’s over hyped, but we’ll see.

Victim Of Circumstance

MOW

Aloha kākou. On Sunday, April 14th, 8:46 PM HST, Hawai’i Electric Light Company (HELCO) posted it will initiate rolling electrical outages on Hawaii Island tonight due to generator shortfall. HELCO uses Unsocial Media sites to post alerts and notifications. My power went out at 9 PM, just fifteen minutes later, and was eventually restored at 9:25 PM. The notification was sudden, and people were given little time to plan around the loss of power. Liberalism breeds incompetence.

Power outage was Islandwide and affected 20,000 customers. This has become more than a chronic problem with HELCO and it’s only getting worse. At the same time, power was out on O’ahu in the Hawai’i Kai, Waikiki, and Wahiawa areas. O’ahu power outage failure was due to a rain event that was traveling down the island chain. The islands are closing aging fossil fuel powerplants and replacing them with unreliable solar, wind, and battery systems. An expensive, unreliable, and failure prone technology. So, here we go again. Green energy components Made in China that cost an arm, leg, and first-born child are going to save us from rising seas and dirty air. The fleecing of America.

Today, HELCO is warning of further temporary electrical outages if power isn’t conserved. We’re paying for an electric service that we can’t use because of incompetent planning. The rolling blackouts time duration will be determined based on the amount of electric demand that needs to be reduced. We pay the highest electric rates in the country, and this is the quality of service we get. ʻAihue Kēia (It’s Robbery).

Hawaii’s Marxist controlled democrat legislature passed legislation to “sequester more atmospheric carbon and greenhouse gases than emitted within the State as quickly as practicable, but no later than 2045”, effectively establishing a net-negative emissions target.” They set a deadline date that is impractical to reach. This is radical DEI environmental idiocy and it’s going to drive Hawai’i into bankruptcy. Quoting from the states decarbonization initiative: “The concept of intergenerational equity specifies that each generation has the right to inherit the same diversity and cultural resources enjoyed by previous generations and to have equitable access to the use and benefits of these resources.”

Hawai’i Island has several active volcanoes that emit carbon, sulfur, and other gases that are far greater than the sum of all the power plants, cars, and other carbon generating devices on these islands. Kīlaueā alone emits enough SO2/4 to blanket the entire populated Hawaiian Archipelago. The Zero Emissions law is an exercise in futility. A postage size land mass in the middle of the Pacific will have a negligible effect on global atmospheric temperatures and air quality.

Coincidentally, the National Weather Service (NWS) was upgrading its weather radar systems on the mainland and experienced a widespread radar outage event, with half of its radars down. Despite the radar disruption, there were no significant severe weather events ongoing, and NWS eventually brought all the radar systems back online. This does underscore the importance of reliable weather radar systems. Crews at the National Weather Service are actively investigating this widespread network outage, working to restore services. This got me wondering; what if these electrical and radar outages cascade to other radar systems? Like aircraft control, GPS satellites, and other crucial systems. We would be blinded.

It’s Tax Day today. Most people have already done their taxes weeks ago. Those expecting a refund from the government are actually losing money. My tax forms were sent in weeks ago. I’m paying what I owe on federal and I’m getting a state refund. It works itself out where I’m not losing or gaining money. So, in the yearly long term the interest I collected is all mine and not the governments. I’d rather pay what I own than get a refund. Why allow the government to keep the earned interest? Even if it’s less than 2%.

This song is so apropos on how the government wastes our money. We spend more than we take in and that is one of the many reasons why inflation is high. High taxes also destroy existing jobs and job creation. Marxist democrats love to blame Republicans for giving tax breaks to billionaires. Democrats complained that workers needed an hourly salary increase.

First, billionaires invest in businesses to create jobs and increase profits. Which brings in more tax revenue. Second, the government has no business dictating what the minimum wage will be. Businesses cannot operate when the government dictates wages. The government doesn’t create jobs, it kills jobs. When democrats interfere with the free markets, everyone loses. Killing the Golden Calf.

In Hawai’i, Governor Josh Green and the Marxist democrat state legislature are forcing businesses to close. Businesses that have been around since Hawai’i Statehood. Declining revenues, increasing prices, higher taxes and lease rates are adding to the decline of Hawai’i famous eateries. The ripple effect hurts everyone. “Every time a restaurant closes their door, now that farmer lost a customer, now the person who sells take out containers lost a customer,” said Sheryl Matsuoka, executive director of the Hawaii Restaurant Association. Since the Maui wildfires, over 600 hundred businesses have closed and there doesn’t seem to be any help coming soon. We can always count on government bureaucracy to rush in to make things worse.

Remember when the democrats won (stole) the 2020 election. They gleefully squealed the “Adults Are Back In Charge.” The democrats need a serious time out. In November, Vote to Save Hawai’i and America.

Two Roads

Jon McNaughton Art

Aloha Lāpule. The Uniparty has neither Faith nor Believes in the American People. MAGA means “Make America Great Again.” It’s up to “We the People” to Save America. One man can’t do it alone.

Na Pule Kala (Prayers for Protection) is needed more than ever these days. This artwork is from Jon McNaughton’s collection of magnificent portraits of religious and political messages. The portrait is named “National Emergency” which is very apropos for these times.

A crucial election is coming up in November that will change everything about the future of the United States of America. The sovereignty of our Constitutional Republic is what’s really on the ballot. We need to wrestle our sovereignty back from the Marxist democrat’s oligarchy currently in power and return our nation back to the people.

It’s going to be a daunting task to achieve. We no longer have a splintered political system. We have a Uniparty that is in control of our nation. Both political parties currently make up the majority governing decisions. This is the Uniparty where the American people’s needs are no longer being represented by a representative government. We vote for people that promise to do right by the people, only to be disappointed by their reversal of promises.

If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.” – Mark Twain. We can always vote the bums out of office. Providing the election process hasn’t been corrupted. But the damage will already be done. How can we restore a sense of trust in government? Till then, as stated on our currency, “In God We Trust.”

There are two roads before us: Democracy disguised as soft totalitarianism, and a true Republic where the people rule the government. As it is today, the government does not fear the people. The government is corrupt to maintain fear upon the people. This is because people will continue to vote for the same corruption and then grumble about the results of bad government. How many promises can be breached before people get a commitment that is followed through? And not just by piecemeal promises but promises fully carried out.

We have one political side that is unified that gets everything they want. Just not the needs of the citizen. The other political side always negotiates away the needs of the citizens to compromise with those on the other side. Then these public servants scold the people, “this is how democracy is supposed to work.” The citizen will not get everything the citizen wants; they claim. Yet, noncitizens are getting everything they need at citizen’s expense. When did our representative government stop representing its citizens?

There hasn’t been a time remembered where the citizen has not complained about government. And yet, the citizens will continue to reelect for the same government they’re complaining about. Why don’t ballots have a checkmark for career corruption? Maybe fresh faces will bring fresh ideas and less corruption for a change. After all, that’s what the founders had in mind when serving our nation.

Two Roads face this nation in November. Do we continue to vote for the same failed corrupt politicians, or do we vote for real ideas and real change? When America took a chance with novice politician Donald Trump, we got real change that worked for the nation. When Joe Biden, a career politician, was elected we went back to the same old failed policies.

If we are to Save America, it will take all of us to Make America Great Again. One man cannot do this by himself. We must all unify to restore government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Keeping The Lights On

HawaiianElectricLogo

Aloha kākou. The State of Hawai’i pursuit of cheap environmentally clean electrical energy is 48¢ cents per kilowatt hour. We have the highest electrical rates in the United State. Hawaii’s insane Marxist democrat dictatorial government is killing paradise to save the planet.

Imagine coming home from work and finding your power, that you pay big buck for, is shut off at your home, apartment, condominium, and if you’re a tourist, at your hotel room. Just to show you that your corrupt democrat run dictatorship has mandated third world problems in a first world state of paradise. We’re saving the planet by inconveniencing your vacation, Mr. and Mrs. Tourist. Residents can’t cook dinner or watch TV at home. You can’t prepare your children for tomorrow’s school day. Because there’s no power until after 9PM HST.

Remember the toilet rule: If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down. Or maybe get a bucket to hold your pee and poop in. Toilet paper? Use a banana or Ti leaf. But beware of the Little Red Fire Ants. Maybe take a cold shower, that’s how we used to clean ourselves. And soap, fuhgeddaboudit.

It’s very inconvenient for residents to experience daily Rolling blackouts at peak times. I see HELCO posting on Twitter-X everyday with power outages and restorations. State-run Public Utilities Commission tell Hawai’i Big Island residents that crews are working to fix several aging power generators. Electrical power plants that have been deliberately neglected for decades. Your tax dollars at work. Residents are now required to help conserve energy for the whole island. It’s a small sacrifice to save the planet from those dangerous CO2 fossil fuel generators that worked so reliably to power our homes for years.

At least they’re working to identify the cause of the power failures. Even if the utilities and the State are the cause of the problems. After letting the wound fester and spread for decades. Planning and maintenance were always an afterthought. That’s like buying a brand new $50,000 car and never getting an oil change, a chassis lube, and regular maintenance to keep the vehicle running. Fixing the vehicle after it breaks down several times. Imagine the cost of those repairs.

State House of Representatives Energy and Environmental Protection Committee chair Nicole Lowen joined KHON2 News last Thursday morning. Rep. Lowen doesn’t think the Public Utilities Commission and Hawaiian Electric are doing enough to make sure that Hamakua Energy is maintained and providing electricity for customers. Well, DUH!

Renewables are a single point of failure as are unkept fossil fuel generator plants. Solar, wind, and battery are not going to lower rates as promised. That’s true wherever renewables are used. Then there’s the transmission line infrastructure which is also aging and overloaded. The cost benefit ratio between renewables and fossil fuel electrical generation is overestimated. Planned electrical usage is going to grow faster than the grid will handle. I would suggest replacing fossil fuel plants first and then with renewables once they reach the same cost, efficiency, and reliability.

Practical Engineering addresses Hawaii’s infrastructure and the human-made caused energy problems. It’s hosted, written, and produced by Grady Hillhouse and provides an outsiders view into addressing Hawai’i energy reliability and cost analysis. It’s an interesting analysis.

It’s more than just planning and maintenance on these isolated islands. It’s anticipating needs before they become issues. Isn’t that the purpose of government? What are our taxes being used for? Other than lining the pockets of corrupt politicians. Why wait till a problem happens before doing something about it? Take for example the Lāhainā, Maui wildfires. Totally preventable. But the priority is converting these islands’ power grid to unreliable, non-renewable, utopian unicorn power sources.

Is it fair that island people’s energy needs are ignored to placate politicians and environmentalists’ desire for a clean habitat? Where they don’t have to be personally inconvenienced. With more bicycle pads and Volvos. Smart Cities to replace disasters after they happen. Is this a good use of our taxpayers’ monies? Or maybe we could live like the Flintstones.

Keeping The Lights On is only going to get harder as environmental mandates restrict Hawai’i from entering into first world solutions: Power, housing, food, water, employment, and even charging your EV car. They want us to go green while taking away our freedoms and quality of life conforts. Image no air conditioning, no refrigeration, until after 9PM in the evening. Imagine cooking food with animal dung as they do in Africa. Environmentalism means living in third world technology. To save the planet, we must rid the surface nuisance of those pesky people.

Last night at the Merrie Monarch Festival was Hula Kahiko. Here’s a sample of the competition.

Pōʻalua Hemolele

Princekuhio

Aloha kākou. Pōʻalua Hemolele (Holy Tuesday). Today is Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole day in Hawai’i. It is a State Holiday. Prince Kūhiō was often called Ke Ali‘i Maka‘āinana (Prince of the People) and is well known for his efforts to preserve and strengthen the Hawaiian people. Prince Kūhiō joined the Republican Party, was nominated as their candidate for Congress. Kūhiō was elected Hawai’i delegate to the U.S. Congress as a Republican. Kūhiō could be considered today as Hawaii’s first MAGA politician.

“Christ is King” is something Catholics and Christians have been saying for since the days when Jesus was alive. However, the Christian saying has become a bit of a controversy when it shouldn’t be. A minor skirmish between two extremely popular conservative talk show hosts at the “Daily Wire,” has one, Ben Shapiro, offended, and the other, Candance Owens, fired. Or freed depending on Candance Owens point of view. Free Speech is at the center of this argument. A damn disappointment.

According to the Jerusalem Post, a tiff between conservative pundits Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro over a matter of opinion over Gaza. Specifically, Candance Owens posted on the social media platform “X” that “you cannot serve both God and money” and that “Christ is King,” her first post in two days, hours after video circulated of Shapiro calling her coverage of the war “disgraceful.”

To me, it’s much to do about nothing. I like both Owens and Shapiro. Despite Shapiro’s often Pharisee manner. Both are good conservative debaters and should put aside their squabbling until after the 2024 election. We need a unified front to defeat Marxist democrat communism.

Holy Tuesday is when Jesus was challenged by the Pharisees and Sadducees over subjects such as marriage in heaven, paying taxes to Caesar, and the source of his authority. Holy Tuesday is when the Pharisees, Sadducees, and other religious leaders’ day constantly sought to entrap him.

Holy Tuesday is also known as Fig Tuesday “as it commemorates the day Jesus returned to Jerusalem from Bethany, passing a barren fig tree on the way, which he used as an example to teach his disciples. This is the time for Christians to reflect about Jesus’ teachings. Jesus was accused of violating Jewish Law by the Pharisees, Sadducees, and other religious leaders of those days. They constantly sought to entrap him. They plotted against Jesus. The rest of Holy Week will tell more of the Greatest Story in History.

Some good news on this holy week. President Trump had some legal victories this week. In the following video, Trump unveils his source of hope for America’s return to Greatness. Trump serves God to make America Great Again. The left is sure to have a panic attack over this video

Trump’s enemies are also the enemies of the American people. They are the Marxist democrats, RINO repubics, and the “Deep State,” also known as the “Uniparty.” They are worse than the Pharisees and Sadducees that crucified Jesus. Not saying that Trump is the Christ, but the actions of evil people affect all of us. It’s Trump’s magnetic personality that brings this injustice against him and to the world’s attention.

The meltdown by the left is astonishing. They were so giddy over the probably that Trump would lose his property over false charges, a corrupt judge, and a contemptable prosecutor, who wanted nothing more than to destroy President Trump. If this isn’t as evil as the Pharisees, then I don’t know what is, because this evil will not stop at Trump, they will come after us all. Will all bear this cross.

Pedo-Hitler Biden’s regime is already replacing Americans with Illegal Aliens. Manufacturing plants are closing and reopening to hire only illegal aliens. Citizens of faith are targeted as enemies of Biden and the democrat’s regime. Children are being confiscated from parents for gender affirming care. Abortion abattoirs are sacrificing the innocent for biological experiments. The Marxist democrats have reached the level of evil that only the Nazis of WWII reached.

In News of Hawai’i: HELCO has issued warnings of potential power outages this year. Consistent power generation has become so unreliable because of the push by the State and Country to use unreliable green energy only. Windmills, solar panels, and batteries. Eliminate the use of fossil fuels. Allow the maintenance of power plants to decay under environmental idiocy.

Hawaiian Electric customers will see alerts in the coming weeks. HELCO is asking customers to conserve energy in order to avoid roller-outages. We’re going to get power outages, regardless of the warnings. It’s more than a chronic problem now, and it never used to be like this either. Wind, Solar, and Battery has been a failed expensive investment. Maintaining Fossil Fuel Power Generation will lower Electric Rates and have less of an Environmental Impact on Land and Air.

I can’t wait till the Adults are Back in Charge. Bidenomics has hurt our economy, jobs, and our Constitutional Rights. Marxist democrats and RINO’s are destroying the greatest country under God. We have one chance to restore this nation back to greatness. We must vote out Marxist democrats and Make America Great Again. Vote Trump 2024.

Mac The Nut

Macadamia

Aloha kākou. Makakema (Macadamia) nut trees are grown all over the Hawaiian Islands. The mac nuts start as long yellow flowers before transforming to green nuts. The nuts are ready for harvest when the husk starts to turn a brownish color or when they start dropping from the trees. Let them sit in a dry sunny location and the husks start to peel away. The nut shells are extremely hard to open and require a special tool to open to get to the fruit.

There are so many products made from Macadamia Nut sold all over Hawai’i. Every island has their brand of Mac nuts. The nuts go well as toppings for ice cream, spreads, cakes, pies, appetizers, and main courses. I sprinkle mac nut crumbs on fish, chicken, and red meats. Mac nuts are great on sea food such as coconut-macadamia shrimp, and macadamia nut crusted grilled Mahi-Mahi. Cocoa is also grown here in Hawai’i and that means chocolate macadamia nut candies.

Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm factory is located off Mamalahoa Highway (Rt. 11) on Macadamia Nut Road. On the southern east side of Big Island of Hawai’i, in the Puna District near Kea’au town. Just minutes from where I live. It’s a must-see tourist attraction on the Big Island. With Free Samples.

The Hawai’i state legislature is moving a bill that ensures macadamia nuts grown in Hawai’i are labeled with the “Made In Hawai’i” label. Cheaper Macadamia Nuts are found in other countries in Asia and South America. But nothing beats Hawaiian Macadamia Nuts.

I have several mac nut trees on my property which I harvest and use in foods. The macadamia nuts have a sweet flavor, and they have a very pleasant fragrance. These mac nut trees are everywhere on the Big Island and on the neighbor islands. Macadamia nuts from Hawai’i are sold everywhere in the world.

There’s only one Mac the Nut. Hawaii’s Macadamia Nuts are the most preferred nut around the world. That’s why it is so important that the mac nuts are labeled “Made In Hawai’i.” You know you’re getting the real item and not some fake knockoff. They may be expensive, but the flavor is worth the cost. Made In Hawai’i. Hawai’i Nō Ka ‘Oi. America First.

Weathering Weather

waikiki2

Aloha kākou and Happy Aloha Friday. What is normal weather? I can say the weather is normal for this time of year in Hawai’i. We’re in the rainy season here on the east side of Big Hawai’i. Easter and the Merrie Monarch Festival approaches at the beginning of April, and the rain will continue. The National Weather Service (NWS) experts say we’re in an “El Niño” according to their Climate Prediction Center. Where they use a bunch of computer models, Ouija boards, and Yahtzee dice to forecast the weather. Me, I just look out the window.

Our local news channels say weather changes may be on the way for the global weather pattern known as El Niño. Forecasters are discussing a shift to La Niña. My rain gauge has recorded a total of 83″ inches of precipitation for the current year. We had a dry spell for the month of January and a gradual change to daily rainfall into March.

I expect mostly cloudy skies with daily scattered rain showers into April. I really don’t see the changes between La Niña and El Niño weather patterns. The weather is mostly consistent year around. That’s the beauty of living in a tropical environment. The weather is always great. There are basically two-yearly weather patterns, the wet season and the dry season.

Uē ka lani, ola ka honua — The heavens weep, the land lives. In Hawaiian poetry, tears symbolize weeping. In this case, water (wai) brings life to the land. Wai, in its various names, represents a rich commodity. Water is wealth. The National Weather Center precipitation outlook for the month of April 2024 predicts below than normal rains for the Hawai’i islands.

The one thing to remember about the NWS and the local weather news reports is they’re almost always O’ahu centric. Meaning they only forecast the weather in Honolulu, O’ahu. Sometimes they report the weather on other islands. It depends on what’s going on with the current island conditions. I suppose it’s boring to report the best weather on the planet over and over every day, but sometimes the local news shakes things up from island to island.

But what about climate change, you ask? Global warming, climate change, sea level rise, and all those cataclysmic events that are always predicted, but are never realized. These doomsday environmentalists always foretelling planetary disasters are primarily on Hawai’i legislator’s minds. After all, they have to earn their taxpayers’ salaries by passing needless laws. Guess what happens when people build their homes too close to the shoreline?

Blame climate change and rising sea levels for homes built too close to the ocean. The Hawaiʻi state legislature has been taking up a number of bills related to sea level rise, as receding shorelines across the state are already causing problems for residents.

It’s called erosion, but don’t tell the environmentalists that. Also, the islands have been sinking under their weight for millions of years. During storms and high surf, Kanaloa is known to throw boulders at homes too close to the ocean. Kanaloa is the Hawaiian God of the ocean. In Hawai’i, we tell malihini (visitors), “never turn your back to the ocean.”

There are also “King Tides,” which is a lunar tidal condition that floods the lower inland areas of the islands. I’ve seen fish on the roads in Honolulu during high tides. The seas are not rising as the worrywarts would have everyone believe. The levels have been the same for decades. The moon makes the tides change. They call that gravity.

Did you know that the Waikiki area used to be a swamp? The area was built into a series of manmade islands. One island was named “Makee’s Island” after James Makee, a Scottish whaling ship captain. The island is now known as east Waikiki. The Hawaiian’s wrote songs about this O’ahu location.

The late great Ki Hōʻalu (slack key) guitarist, Sonny Chillingworth recorded this version of “Make’e ‘Ailana” in 1954 with the legendary Vickie I’i Rodrigues. The largest of these man-made islands before all the hotels, condos, and tourist locations. Waikiki is the largest Honolulu tourist attraction in the world.

Weathering the Weather depends on which Island you’re currently located. If it’s raining and chilly, then get in your car and drive thirty minutes in any direction and it’s warm and sunny. Things work like that here. Have a good MAGA Weekend.
